thanks for pointing it out, the name registry has been removed

once we work out a few more bugs, the mod will most likely be released as is, until we can work out the rest of the issues. It will be easier to get feedback from you to fix things then trying to find them all on our own.

Just checking in during a brief moment out of internet exile. I still have 2 weeks of real life work before i get some downtime to work on the mod. In the mean time i am marveling at the new vids. Once i get back i will start the process of model building to finish filling in the gaps, and start on the 0.04-5 model rebuilds to replace the non-soa2 team 3rd party work, and low res models. From what i see so far it seems that we have the gameplay aspect down. Darkshimmer will determine when that is final since he is in charge of the mod now. My role will be more of a background adviser, and modeler once i return.

Guys this mod is NOT going to be "exactly" canon as you know it. Trek has enough inconsistancies to make your head spin for years. Making a trek mod is like trying to bring order to chaos. What Shimmer, and i (more shimmer, and crew now) are doing is trying to create a mod that is as close to trek as possible, but within the limits of the sins engine. Which means sometimes you must make things that do not exactly match what you knew and saw. Example making the Galor a heavy frigate, and putting the Defiant in a capital ship slot. Not canon as you knew it, but works to smooth, and streamline gameplay. So canon nuts understand that we will do what we must to make the mod work. While trying to keep it as canon as possible. Which is more that what the killer b's did.

Just wanted to thank you for all the hard work you're doing! If people ain't happy about the size of a ship or something like that, screw 'em, mods are a gradual process.

Also, Star Trek 'canon' is nearly impossible to define, as it contradicts itself at every available opportunity. What constitutes a ship's ability is really just at the mercy of the Plot Device Of The Week, which is in turn at the mercy of a bunch of former soap opera writers script writers.

That said, I really look forward to this mod, especially since my favorite ship, the Akira-class, is in it

the defiant as a capital ship  not Cannon?

I figure you guys are better off with it  as a Capital ship with limited numbers then as a cruiser or frigate with gimped power..  i mean  seriously the ship was overgunned for its size, 

to add to that..  there were few actualy used..  In DS9  we only had 3 ever featured,(2 if you dont count the second defiant)

Makeing it a capital ship only makes sence since it is a warship pure and simple..  Size dosn't always mater. Being able to field 16 defiants that can lay some serious smackdown  is probably alot more cannon then being able to field 300+  that cant dent a fly

Well..ok..the Defiant being classified as a capital ship doesn't bother me much but if the Galor is not a capital ship I wonder what the Cardassians will be getting...not that they have a vast selection of those.

did you check out the old version for vanilla sins? I guess that cardassia is still in union with the dominion and the breen, so some capital ships will come from their allies too.
