Very good point being made here - the EXTERNAL balance between demigods in 2v2 or larger is quite good, with the Queen as the only dubious character. Even if Queen is OK in the abstract, having a Skill Character and a Noob Character is one part of Street Fighter that I'd like to avoid.
On the other hand, the INTERNAL balance between skills for a given demigod, or between items in the shop, deserves some fixing. I think Regulus is the gold standard here, as you can build him several different ways, and he doesn't have any useless or essential skills. Much of the fun in Demigod is choosing the right skills for a given match, and if you only have one viable choice for a given level, that excitement is lost. (Erebus, for instance, has to pick Bite every time.)
Similarly, the item shop is full of terrible items and amazing items (every newbie should buy Heart of Life and teleport scrolls, but you'd never know that without someone telling you) in no particular order. Cleaning this up, by tweaking some numbers or adding incidental auras like the Vlemish Faceguard, would go a long way towards making the game more fun and also more user-friendly.
