Advent Starbase weapons

Well a simple question. I have noticed that the basic weapons is small pick/purple plasma particals, and the last weapon upgrade is the blue larger particals. But where the hell is the lasers?

 

I mean the second weapon type doesn't display in any way. Is this intentional? is it a bug?

 

I not its trivial, but I'd like to actually see some god damn laser displays in this thing, or at least some display.

The lasers are small and purple, the same colour as the plasma so they are hard to notice.

for advent energy projectiles, color basically indicates strength; so purple means very strong.

The lasers are very confusing, the damage they do is great but the visual effect is puny and easy to ignore. They don't fire many shots and they look a lot like plasma. Also there are only 3 batteries on the starbase. The rear quadran behind the "arms" doesn't get coverage.

Thats another thing. When it says: Laser/whatever dmg: 100

 

Does this when 100 per shot? And how do I know how many batteries each ship/building has?

the 100 dmg is actually a dmg per second ratio. the actual shot (this is an estimate)  probably does 300 dmg but if it has a 2 second cooldown the weapon only does 100 dmg per sec.

that is how all weapons work in the game, and is why a shot from an assilent does around 50 dmg instead of 13.

afaik, all SB's have 4 banks +1 with the high level defense research.

yeah psionic surge is the ultra slow kool looking attack which happens to be the only missile like attack the advent have.

I think that this is inconsistant with the rest of the game. Lke Vasari Disinegrators, the Psionic Surge should get a specific upgrade in the military tree.

Eh... they are plenty powerful as it is already. What they really need to buff is the number of laser batteries. Plasma cannons, laser cannons and pulse guns all match up evenly for mid-range firepower. But Vasari stations get the super shotgun desintigrator and the TEC get those awesome beam cannons.

The little piddly laser cannons the Advent get just can't compare in coverage, damage, or even awesomeness.

psionic surge is friggin insane...just because the shots are slow has nothing to do with actual damage dealt...

it will massacre ships

only thing is i coulda sworn the official trailer for entrenchment showed transcencia's shotting beam cannons.

What about the asteroid attack?  I've not played Advent since Entrenchment, nor seen them use it against me in game.  What does it look like and how damaging is i?  Just curious.

level 1 does 500 damage to all targets within afaik 6000 of the target....range on the abilty itself is 15000 i believe. level 2 does 750 damage, think the range increases. but the planet bombing ability has 0 range at this level.
