Hi there, i dont know if this is the right forum, but i cant download the last update.

always an error occurs whichs says " downloaded file is larger than expected".

has anyone an idea what to do?

I have a hard enough time finding a multiplayer match that isn't unbalanced (one side up a player or two) that it would be nice to play the single player just to play the game at all, but wait....  The AI on your side is soooo bad in single player that hard mode is ridiculously difficult because your  AI teamates keep feeding the computer DG kills.  Biggest issues are: a weakened AI teamate pursuing a DG through a line of towers and getting taken out, your AI rarely focus fires, and the criteria for your AI to run away is set way way too low.  The worst part is the computer team plays intelligently and effectively but AI absolutely blows and in an even game (hard mode) its really really problematic when the comp farms your AI teamates whether you support them or not.

Hello, stardock team support, belive it or not, now im having the same problem when updating demigod, the same error takes place when impulse launches itself for updating, and.. again i can't play Demigod, maybe you guys could make a manual install version for the update like you did with demigod on http://anywhere.impulsedriven.com, because that worked out fine, without having to run impulse, i await for further instruction. Thank you very much, or not, because a part from this issue, demigod's multiplayer system is very bad, the game crashes so often, if it fails to connect to one of the players in the game.. the game crashes, and even if you start the game, 1 or 2 guys drop out while the game is loading, and there are lots of other problems too, your game is like.. 40% playable, and that's no joke, tried to play the Pantheon and the game started out only with AIs. How come i can play dota over b.net on usEast hosts with ping 75 in 5 vs 5 games, and here i can't even play out, or hardly i play out a 3vs3 game with european guys ? Maybe you know the answer alone, and there is verry little chanse that me and my friends will buy another game from you..

P.S: please don't ask me again for the dxdiag, startup and impulse error.log files because i've sent them to you like 3 times before

crashing on the latest beta patch when hosting. I have previously been able to host fine, now once the lobby fills up, DemiGod just hangs and stops responding, forcing a control alt delete to end the task. I cannot pinpoint what exactly makes it happen, I can just tell you that it occurs when all open slots fill up.

So now that I have the latest patch in place, I can no longer play Demigod.  I was playing both online and offline just fine.  However, here is good news!  I actually have information on the Unhandled Exception.  So here is the short version.

I lauched the Demigod game.

Skipped through the opening videos.

Selected to play a single player game.

Had myself set as Torch Bearer.

Selected to add an Easy AI.

Easy AI came up as Lord Erebus, meh, ok.

The map was set for Prison.

I went into game options.

Started looking over the options of how I would like this game to play out.

Crash.

Ok, if you are having problems with the Online Demigod game, then you have to thank the hackers for this. An unsolicited number of Pirated Demigods went online and stuffed it up. Read here the details :- http://www.afterdawn.com/news/archive/17657.cfm Its not going to go away soon, Stardock have to find a way of unauthorising all those hacked gamers. Its a shame, I couldnt even get the game to start (it does an update first) just hung with no loading screen, so I un-installed and have asked for my money back. Hope you guys have better luck

FYI

After the last patch I started getting some random crashes after 10-15 minutes into any game. Prior to the last patch, I never crashed once. I uninstalled the game and reinstalled by downloading from Star Dock. Now it works perfectly again. Those with crashing problems might want to try uninstalling/reinstalling again.

love the game stardock, I hope for more content and functionality as game grows of course.

 Netcode is horrid to say the least.  agree that web stats are not working also though good luck on fixing the problems have all my ports forwarded etc.. but have to say patch didnt help at all seems the same too me .... disconects and matchmaking failed etc...

when I'm downloading demigod i spend 20 min extracting files then it says decompression error... is there a way 2 fix this?

I have always had a soft spot for starock, ever since GalCIv 1..

However, I have to say the execution of multiplayer is very bad. To release a game in this state, is really a kick in the teeth for those of us who champion you guys.

For every game I get into and enjoy, the other 10 games consist of lag, desync's, more lag, and more connectivity related problems.

And also your updates seem to mute sound in the OS.. sort that out too.

It's difficult trying to play a finesse game as Regulus, when due to lag you die alot needllessly.

God do you know how it feels to have to quit a game due to lag.. and end up looking like an idiot!!

Ill be returning in a in near future, when hopefully you guys have sorted the networking out.. as it stands in it;s current state I'm staying clear.

I would ask for my money back, but I can't be arsed, put it to good use, and fix it..

Serial keys only contain 0-9 and A-F, so there is only one potential choice for any character or digit.

 

I have this same problem too, how do you fix it?

If you have a Logitech webcam, close the system tray app and/or end the LVPrcInj process in task manager. If you have Comodo Firewall, disable Defense+ while playing or add it as an exception.

Xclaim, I'm from Bisbane and unfortunately pre-ordered the game. It arrived in the mail yesterday and I installed it then..... Have managed to play a couple of single player games, and grew quickly bored. The game is not that great even if it ran seamlessly....

 

Having said that, it does not run seamlessly.  This is the clunkiest, buggiest, hunk of junk NOT WORKING game I have ever played. OMG I can't beleive it was released. The game lobby is garbage, there's no player stats visible, no pings visible, the refresh doesn't work properly. The  lobby displays games that are expired, games in play, and games that are full, even immediately after refresh they're still there. It displays these games as not full though (Like 4/6 players).

When you attempt to join a game you sit there for about 5 minutes waiting in limbo, and then it FINALLY says game full, or game in progress.....

I tried for 1 hour today attempting to play JUST ONE SINGLE MULTIPLAYER GAME! Guess what? I could not even join one game. I tried in vain to squeeze some sort of value out of this game, and the only thing I can rate it on is the 10 minutes of gametime I got in single player mode.

Do not buy it! It doesn't have issues, it's simply not working. Broken. Junk.

I agree with bladen above on you selling a working product. Test your darn game before you realease it. I am so angry about the $50 I just threw away.... The game will now sit on the shelf and collect dust. This is not fair business, I also think you should be giving everyone a refund. I would not even bother playing this game even if it were FREE.

Now I have to cheer myself up by playing a game that does work : Company of Heroes.

 

I'll keep my eye out for games with the "Stardock" and "Gas powered games" logos on them and make sure I DONT BUY IT!

LOL... Today, another patch... played 2 games, took about 20 mins to get into a game. As soon as the match started it dropped one player.... then 5 minutes later the game goes 'Ahhh eff it" and BOOM CRASH!

 2nd game CRASH!

 

Sorry Stardock, todays patch didn't stop the BS.
