I'd agree, moons would be nice to have in a future expansion.  Beyond moons, I'd like to see a greater role for gas giants (after all, if our solar system is any indication, they may make up about half of all planets) and perhaps an ice giant variant representative of Neptune and Uranus.

Well I could see a moon to be sort of like the mineral asteroids, but instead of extractor you can build a minicolony which will give you credit income!

The only way a virus could be spread through JPEGs is if there was a program vulnerability upon which they preyed.  In any case, there's no method for file transfer on ICO; we can't even transfer maps, which is one of the biggest current flaws in the system.

In any case, the real reason that can't happen is because some people will make pornographic portraits.

Of course it could be hidden in a jpeg, but just having the virus program on your computer doesn't make you infected.  The virus has to actually run first.  Unless there's some security flaw in the program reading the jpeg, there's absolutely no chance of that actually happening.

assuming the planet can support colonisation efforts (i.e. its not just accumulated dust kilometers deep) id love to have the option to add a colony for extra credit income, and also have the option to construct some sort of weapons lab or defense lab or something specialised... maybe just to give you a bonus of some sort in research or economy stimulus...

that, and id LOVE for there to be like an orbiting defense station around the moon...

one thing i noticed though... the defensive moon ring in Starship Troopers would only be effective part of the time, i mean, if the asteroid comes when the moon is orbiting the other side of the planet, ur shit outa luck arent you?

also, we could make it that its own small gravity well could affect ships movement and targeting systems, and if the fleet does not move out of the way of the moons orbit it could actually decimate an ENTIRE fleet by crashing into it, though damaging the defenses and structures on the surface of the moon... that said, it would need to be tweaked and balanced, maybe the crashing into the fleet thing should be scraped

yes they do, but moons are often considered as more spherical such as that of Earth's, Luna. It would be interesting to have moon types based off of the moons in our solar system, like Ios (a volcanic moon), or Europa (an ice moon that has a presumed ocean beneath the ice). As such, allow each to have different minerals, it would be interesting to have the moons rotate the planet, but ships should not be allowed to impact on it. Allowing it to be specialized (colonized, defensive structures, trade increase, or research increase) would add a new level to the game allowing for each player to develop a style even more suited for themselves. A moon is located within the Gravity well of the planet it rotates. Due to this, i do not believe that a moon should warrant a gravity well in the same grav well of it's mother planet.

Create two different sins folder's one v1.05, and the other being the most updated, then download 7 Deadly Sins v2.0 into the mods folder and now you got moons that give bonuses, colonize stars and gas giant, and a whole bunch of cool stuff. There is even a hamachi server specificly for there mod multiplayer.
