Hi, I had the same problem.

When your friend purchased both copies, both serials are connected now to his email adress or account.

So you can´t add the free serial to your account. Just send an email to sales@stardock.com. Let that your friend handle it with his email.

Tell them to add the free serial (give them the serial you are talking about) to your emailadress.

After maybe 2 days everything will be fine. I did that when the game first came out, no problem.
