Object Navigator File Manager for Windows

Any chance a file manager for OD is in the works? I used to love ON for Os/2 and would love to see a good file manager for windows.

Something with built archiving,  file format viewers, multi paned,tabbed, folder syncing, maybe some editing abilities,drive space overview. I could go on forever. I did see an old mention of this being on the horizon in an old white paper from 2000 along with image navigator.

Anything like Magellan around for Vista besides Directory Opus 9.1.1.7?

As mentioned in one ofthe comments, on the page Zu linked to, Total Commander is a fine replacement file manager for Explorer.
I've been using it for elleventysix years now, and wouldn't leave home without it

Explorer, for me, is only a tool to find the TC installation file

Snowy...have you looked at Directory Opus 9? Seems like a heck of a program.

Well Doc.... this one 'feature' puts me off straight away:

Unlike many other file managers, Directory Opus defaults to an Explorer-compatible user interface

One of the reason I've used TC for so long (10+ years) is the dual/split pane interface + I dislike Explorers general look/feel/use.
I've also grown accustom to using TC's hotkey setup etc etc.
So I generally tend to compare every new filemanager I come upon with TC, and none have so far been any way close to as easy to use.

But I'm sure that DO would appeal to anyone new, looking for a replacement for Explorer

Technojoly dual explorer,same as total commander but is free,go to right of webpage to select language as site is in french assuming it works,i'm stuffed if i can navigate that website even in english so 2nd link will give a screenshot & a really slow download..lol..

I think there's a web site about that. Dual-pane FMs are called Orthodox File Managers. For me that is the only way to go.

I don't use TC but either FAR Manager (console) or FreeCommander. Going all the way back to Norton Commander they pretty much always have the same basic file management keys for viewing, copying, moving, etc.

Always more productive than with Explorer-style file managers.

Now that is nostalgic.... I used NC back in my early DOS days...
NC got me hooked on the dual-pane setup. Never looked back since
