First of all, since this is my first post, hello everyone!
And now here's my story. I'm playing TA on an immense map, tough difficulty. I started aiming for a diplomatic, or maybe influence victory, managed to get to nice relations with all races(except for the Drengin, but after declaring war they didn't last much...they aren't a factor anymore) and allied with Krynns and Arceans. Then, an assassination event came up, Torians declared war on Krynns, and I decided to keep the alliance and declare war on the Torians myself. And that was when all hell broke loose.
Torians were allied to Iconians, Altarians, and Drath, so I suddenly found myself at the center of a galaxy wide war. The problem is that I had treaties with both Torians and Drath that were broken with war, so now I have a nice "-- We don't trust you" entry in the relations summary, and this seems to cripple my attempts at peace. Somehow they seem to think that I want to make peace only to build up and attack them again, even if I never did something like it.
After a while, Torians made peace, due to the fact that they were losing badly, but then declared war again after 2 weeks to "help their allies". Drath and Iconians absolutely don't want to hear about a truce, even if I keep destroying the hordes of ships they send against me(but I haven't touched any of their planets yet). I'd prefer not to go and annihilate them all, since that is a *lot* of planets to get and I don't really like conquest anyway...is there any way to "convince" them to accept peace without having to reduce them to their homeworlds only?
PS: I'm playing a Terran-derived custom race, on Neutral Alignment...and the Yor and Korx are in game, but so weak they barely deserve the mention.
