In a current game of Maelstrom, 2X2X2, my allie and I were pounding on another ai race.  My allie's fleet became quite large.  With three worlds to go on one of the emeny ai empires, my allie quit accepting my recommendations and just sat with is fleet.  He kept reponding, "on it, etc" but his fleet just sat there.   I retarted the game as my allie and with his large fleet destroyed the last three worlds of the other ai race.  I noticed he had numerous small fleets and I combined them into one as a passing thought.

I then restarted the game with my orignal empire and noticed my ai allie would not respond anymore when I gave him suggestions.  Nor did he do anything I asked.  In fact, he did nothing at all.  It didn't even look as if he was building anything.  There was no guage under his character showing how much he liked me, just like on my character.

Has anyone else ever swapped with an ai allie?  Is this broken or just a bug?  Any suggestions?  I am still using 1.12 waiting on the conclusion of this game before upgrading, but if it is unfixable, I do not plan on switching back and forth between empires to keep it going.
