Unfortunately I'm rather stuck in the boonies. For the past few years I've been doing things with my cheap laptop, using free wi-fi from the library or friends when I visit ... but my laptop just isn't cut out for games. GC2 ran so slowly that I just stopped playing it. Finally I got a decent gaming system built, but because I live so far out in the boonies, I don't really have much in the way of Internet options, so I've been trying to make due using my laptop to download by wi fi, then transferring over to my gaming rig using a thumb drive. My gaming computer is pretty much permanently offline.
The game archiving feels like a pain, half the time it won't let me "restore" from an archive on my gaming rig that I created on my laptop. I read other players are having similar issues, unfortunately for me, its the only way to download games and updates. I rather like the purchase software download model, no need to burn gas going to a software store just to find they don't have anything that interests me, but it seems like the archive/restore features are buggy.
Any advice?
