hotkeys

Is there a hotkey command for zooming out to the solar system view, and another to take you to the planet view?

zooming in and out with the mouse wheel is too slow and tedious in big games with multiple fronts.

 

And as an aside, do many of you use hotkeys?  I am a hotkey user from many RTS games, but the hotkeys in SoaSE dont seem to be as intuitive as other games....maybe it's just that I dont see the use in many of them.

i though the default was Cap Lock? i rarely use hotkey, scroll in and out via scroll wheel

I use hotkeys for lots of things...ie, the diplomacy screen, the research screen, the black market screen, to pull up all 3 ship build menus, to pull open the planetary upgrade menu, and also the logistics and the tactical upgrade and build menus.

Of course, I also have a Merc Stealth keyboard with a 35 key keypad that fits my left hand and I have mapped all of the applicable keys to that.

I also map "Squad Locks" to my number keys 1-0, for easier and quicker access to a group of fleets.
