Subject: Mom's visit with Adele
We really enjoyed Mom's visit; she came for the week of Thanksgiving. She seems about the same, loved any outings anywhere, and enjoyed all the food. She does have more trouble find the "right" words and with other cognitive skills.
Elana, who moved into a little apt a couple of months ago, came home for a few days to take care of her so they had some quality time together. Other than making sure there's always somebody with her, the obstacles really aren't many. She was good about taking her meds as long as she didn't know what they were for. She does have some trouble zipping jackets and fastening her shoes. She and I started a puzzle and she did great sorting out the edge pieces and putting some of them together, but couldn't do the inside pieces.
She loved playing with Emily (now 7 months) and seeing Zach, Karen, and Amanda too. David and her even went shopping and out to lunch on Friday. He recorded some cds and gave her his walkman (as she said the thing that makes all the music and nobody else can hear it). She even tried playing his cello a couple of times.
But overall, she's a great houseguest; she loved playing with Emily (now 7 months) and seeing Zach, Karen, and Amanda too.
When we took her back on Sunday, I was asking other residents how their Thanksgiving was, and one lady popped up "everything's fine now that Lenna is back". Very comforting sentiment.
