Windowblinds and getting rid of XP's own theme service!

I thought I would try and breath some life into my aging PC by stripping down my XP installation using nlite (http://www.nliteos.com/). One of the things I was intending to sacrifice was XP's own theme service. I had heard this was feasible when using Windowblinds. However, if I turn off the theme service and reboot I get windows classic! If I go into windowblinds config and select a theme I get the same result - windows classic in the themes colors. Various sources have suggested that getting rid of the theme service is possible when using windowblinds - is it? Oh yeah, using properly registered WB on XP SP2. Thanks!

Don't all rush to help at once guys! Anyways, I figured it out for myself - I have the mighty styler toolbar installed and it seems that if you switch the theme service off styler will still work but windowblinds won't. If I disable styler and reboot, windowblinds works without the theme service. Incidentally, you can do some really cool things to the explorer toolbar with styler - it'd be cool to be able to do similar stuff in windowblinds don't you think?

Hi Ooberman, Yes you can, go thru "Control Panel" then "Administrative Tools" then choose "Component Services" Then click on "Local Services". Go down to "Themes" and disable the service. I have that done on mine and it works fine. RAD
