Its about time the tec something of use fleet vs fleet in the late game.  Maybe it needs some more tweaking and synergie it with something else such as the advent and vasari fleets have. 

Cleansing brilliance is a 'tight cone' power that does absolutely hideous damage (even to cap ships) to a main target and takes out a decent number of other ships.  I do not believe it is channeled, and you certainly don't have 60 seconds to interrupt it even if it is.  Despite the talk of synergies, I have been able to do downright unfair things with cleansing brilliance alone.  Also keep in mind the other 3 powers of this ship.  Detonate antimatter, which takes out another cap ship's powers (or any other ship's for that matter) and energy absorptive armor which makes sure it can use those powers as frequently as cooldowns allow.  Oh, and it's a battleship, so it gets the best per level increases and sheer high level DPS of any type of ship.  It's last power, animosity, has it's uses, but we shall put it aside for these calculations.

Compare this with the marza.  Radiation Bomb.  Weak single target damage plus weak AoE.  It's no detonate antimatter, let's just leave it at that.  Heck, it's no Gauss rail gun, which is saying something.  Incendiary shells.  Decent enough +damage power.  It does not do what the tooltips say.  It's duration is very small.  I think they may have condensed the damage because you could only have one in affect at a time.  The damage may be the same.  Either way, you're sort of paying for what the radiance gets for free for being a beefier base ship type.  Raze planet:useful, but like animosity, situational.

In conclusion, the Marza has a very potent (interruptable) ultimate BECAUSE it has such a large template.  Cleansing brilliance does more damage to less ships.  I have cleared more than a couple of pirate bases with cleansing brilliance.  It takes maybe 3 to clear most of the ships, or 1 and a high level malice and a bit of mop up.  Marza is a damage based mediocre ship with a power that IF UNCHECKED FOR 60 SECONDS will level a lot.  Radiance is a damage based powerful ship with 3 STRONG abilities including the ultimate that levels ... more than enough for my needs.   It is a beautiful thing when you catch more than one cap ship in a cleansing brilliance.

I guess what i'm saying is missile barrage on the Marza is powerful, but not OP.   If they put missile barrage on the radiance... There are no words (except perhaps 'by your command'  Perhaps 'resistance is futile'?).

Wow you people make it shound so much better then what it actuly is. First fo all for Vasary and and Advent you need a combo of 2 ships wich 1 needs to be lvl while the other lvl 6 so bam easier to get thsoe combos then marzas. And those abilaties will kill high lvl enemy cap ships instanly. And you can't dfend from them. 3 lvl 6 Marzas will only kill light stuff, like light frigates, long range frigs, colony frigs, seige frigs. With 3 you'll start killing the support cruisers. With 4 youll kill heavy cruisers and carriers but still wont kills caps. While only 2 are needed to completely wipe out fleets as advent and Vasary 4 are needed for tec and Caps will survive it and you can counter it. And it has a very long cool down were as teh advents and vasaris are quite spamable. So overpowered no. Powerfull yes, and it's about time.

It's easily counterable, especially if you've done sufficient scouting and know there is a Marza in play, you have plenty of time to create a counter force before it ever gets to level 6.  The only real difference I see now is that the players used to kicking butt with the other races don't have it as easy anymore.
