The Ugly Bush: He Smirks As He Wrongly Smears Kerry

A moment where we learned something troubling about Bush:
Sen. John F. Kerry caught President Bush off guard during their final debate Wednesday night, asserting that the president once said he was "not that concerned" about hunting down Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

In one of the testiest moments of the evening, Bush protested, "I don't think I ever said I'm not worried about Osama bin Laden. That's kind of one of those exaggerations."

But during a news conference at the White House on March 13, 2002, Bush said something close to what Kerry quoted. "I truly am not that concerned about him," the president said, according to the official White House transcript.
Last week, I talked about how the problem with Bush's claim that he wasn't an owner of a timber company isn't that he made a mistake, it's that Bush made a theatrical production of buffooning Kerry as Bush made that mistake. He pandered to the audience and the camera, climaxing in the bizarre moment where he said to the moderator: "need wood?"

If you watched last night, you know Bush made a show of the word "exaggeration," drawing out each syllable, while he grinned at the camera.

Too bad Kerry was right.

The problem here isn't that Bush makes mistakes, it's that he belittles his opponent with showy antics, even when he has no idea if his opponent has actually made a mistake. He's done this same behavior in two debates. Once might have been an unpleasant aberration, but we now know this is an ugly part of Bush's fundamental character.

target of 150,000 signatures in September. (This petition for
indictment will remain online for informational purposes

signatures, which we will report each quarter after the petition for
indictment is filed.)


Dear Fellow Patriot,

The petition for indictment of John Kerry, for "giving aid and comfort
to the enemy," and, thus, to disqualify him for national office, has
reached its goal of more than 150,000 signatures. On Monday, 18
October, the petition will be delivered by registered courier to Vice
President Richard Cheney (in his capacity as Senate President), Senate
Majority Leader Bill Frist and Attorney General John Ashcroft today.

Though John Kerry has an extensive and well-documented record of anti-
American activities over the past three decades [see "John Kerry: More
aid and comfort..." at http://FederalistPatriot.US/alexander/], it is
his acts of treason in 1970-71 that are the subject of this petition
for indictment. Our appeal notes both Kerry's violations of the UCMJ
(Article 104 part 904) and U.S. Code (18 USC Sec. 2381 and 18 USC Sec.
953), and calls for his disqualification for public office in
accordance with the Constitution's Fourteenth Amendment, Section 3,
which states: "No person shall be a Senator or Representative in
Congress, or elector of President and Vice- President ... having
previously taken an oath ... to support the Constitution of the United
States, [who has] engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the
same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof."

Why prosecute John Kerry now?

In October 2003, Mr. Kerry chose to make his Vietnam war record the
centerpiece of his campaign for the presidency; this has been
especially true since his primary victory in March 2004 [see "Kerry's
Quagmire..." http://FederalistPatriot.US/alexander/]. In response,
more than 165,000 signatories of the above-referenced petition for
indictment have made his war record the centerpiece of their campaign
to disqualify Kerry from public office.

We understand that no action is likely to be taken on this petition
until after the 02 November election. Be it known, however, that on 03
November, we will seek full recourse in an effort to have John Kerry
prosecuted for acts of treason and disqualified from any future
campaign for any national office. We are thus committed to holding Mr.
Kerry accountable for his actions, as there is no statute of
limitations for acts of treason.

Thank you for taking the time to sign this petition for indictment.
Rest assured that your voice will be heard.

Eat your words Drmiller, because every time anything comes up about Kerry you profoundly support it and everytime anything is said about Bush you act like a jerk and start calling people names, flapping your arms about and using mixed up thinking to try to prove to yourself that you are right.

Kerry was wrong, if you consider stretching the truth(streching a very long way) to be a lie. Kerry WAS greatly exaggerating the fact that Bush "wasn't worried" about Bin Laden. Kerry said this, of course, to scare the ignorant voters out there who probably think Bush and Bin Laden have reached some secret agreement. BUSH DIDNT LIE WHEN HE SAID KERRY WAS EXAGGERATING!!!

Even if the petition gets action to be taken, how has Kerry commited Treason?

I said that to Drmiller because in another post he called someone who had the same viewpoint as me a jerk. I said he acted like a jerk in doing so.

"I truly am not that concerned about him," ( bold for the BLIND, since I can't do braille for you... )


More blogic propaganda. Bush wasn't wrong, Kerry was wrong. Bush DIDN'T say he wasn't worried, he said he wasn't "that concerned", which, to anyone with a slight grasp of "Ingritch", means he is concerned, but not to an extreme degree.

How pathetic, how blatently fearful do you guys have to be to home in on this kind of thing? It isn't hard to belittle Kerry. By exageratting his importance and his contribution he belittles himself for anyone that looks at him objectively. He's whined about his epic four months in the jungle, misrepresented his position on two wars, done his best to side-step 20 years in the Senate as someone to the Left of The Chappaquiddick Kid, Ted Kennedy...

Come on. If this is the best you can do I'm not all that worried.

It does not matter who was right or who was wrong, As far as I am concerned they are both owned by the same people with Bush just being owned by more of them. They are both wrong and at the end of the day it doesn't really matter now does it. All that I can say is that if President Bush is re-elected this country is going to go down the shitter. He can't admit he was wrong, even when he was asked what three things were he would've changed looking back on his term, all he did was mumble (which he is very good at by the way) for two minutes never admitting to any mistaske. Kerry flip-flops. That is the actual best thing that he can do. He can admit when he is wrong, and then take a proactive approach to the situation and change his mind. For the sake of this country, VOTE KERRY.

Go and read his testimony (1971) before house senate committee. And while you do remember he was still a member of the armed forces.

drmiller, I have often enjoyed your comments -- even though I do disagree with some of them -- but I'm not sure this is the only time you've done this, and I see neither are you. Maybe you could check and let us know?
