Capturing Asteroids with abandoned extractors

How do you captue asteriods with extractors that seem to not be owned. When I hover the mouse over them I get the message "Invunerable, can be captured" but I can not work out how. I do not seem to be able to target them or something.

I know I must be missing something easy but can not see it. I have just progressd from small to medium maps and this is the first time they have come up for me.

I am finally winning some games now and slowly upiing the map sizes then difficulty levely.

Any help will be appreciated.

Depending on the faction you choose scouts/colonizers can capture them.

For TEC and Advent i think use a colonizer you will see a second symbol next to colonize with is crew extractors or something, it is enabled as standard so will work after i think 60anti-matter.
For vasari the scouts have that ability.

I am playing TEC. The icon did not show up on my colonizer Capital ship so I build a standard colonizer and it showed up ok. The icon space to the right of my capital ship colonizer was blank. I will check to see if it has the required antimatter. There is another small field to check this out on, but it will have to wait as it is through a Pirate lair.

I am playing TEC. The icon did not show up on my colonizer Capital ship so I build a standard colonizer and it showed up ok. The icon space to the right of my capital ship colonizer was blank. Capital ships don't have the ability to crew derelict mining stations. All the icon space on your capital ships will be filled with other abilities, when you've leveled it up enough.

40 for TEC Protev frigates, 60 for Vasari Jikara Navigators. Never played Advent, but I'd assume it's 40 for their Missionary.

Yeah i was just about to say.. there is a new thread for this posted every other day since the game has been out.

In peoples defense, it should be on the neutral extractors description.

But still, people should search or look on the first page..

I did but did not find anything. I know it must have been a bad search on my part. I must admit I only normally look at the first page of quotes as changing the pages on my PC takes forever even with ADSL. I find this site forum very slow all the time. Some days I can not even get into the site at all. So searching this site is not all that easy.

For commonly asked questions, possibly have a FAQ that is constantly being updated would be good.

Anyway thanks for the infomation received, it was appreciated. Hopefully I will be good enough soon to be able to help others.
