Did Bush Cheat in the Debate?

In response to last debates controversy, I am posting this:

It appears possible that Bush may have cheated in the debate, being fed information by a wire. Notice the Bulge on his back, in the shape of a rectangle. One theory was it could have been a bullet proof vest, although the White House has said this is untrue.

ASHINGTON, Oct. 8 - What was that bulge in the back of President Bush's suit jacket at the presidential debate in Miami last week?

According to rumors racing across the Internet this week, the rectangular bulge visible between Mr. Bush's shoulder blades was a radio receiver, getting answers from an offstage counselor into a hidden presidential earpiece. The prime suspect was Karl Rove, Mr. Bush's powerful political adviser.

When the online magazine Salon published an article about the rumors on Friday, the speculation reached such a pitch that White House and campaign officials were inundated with calls.

First they said that pictures showing the bulge might have been doctored. But then, when the bulge turned out to be clearly visible in the television footage of the evening, they offered a different explanation.

"There was nothing under his suit jacket," said Nicolle Devenish, a campaign spokeswoman.

"It was most likely a rumpling of that portion of his suit jacket, or a wrinkle in the fabric."

Ms. Devenish could not say why the "rumpling" was rectangular.

Nor was the bulge from a bulletproof vest, according to campaign and White House officials; they said Mr. Bush was not wearing one.

I am not trying to stir up more nonsense, but if it was posted before, let's be fair and consider this too.

I need higher quality picture to check it. There's just too much JPG artifacts.

One thing, however. I noticed that "wire" also crosses collar so it's not possible in real life. After all, the wire can't go OVER collar and yet enter to inside back area?

Again, the wire could be just a JPG compression artifact. Bush (or advisers ) is not idiotic enough to use visible wire. I just wish there's offical recording of debate so I can see it directly.

I think it is silly.....do you really think they would put it on his back? Attached to what? Why not attach it at the waistband where it won't show? Come on.....this is just silly.....
Of course if CBS does an article on it....wait, nevermind.

To answer this question... if they were to put it somewhere his back was the best place because the rules the media had to follow said they couldn't show footage of a candidates back. They broke this rule.

This is really pathetic.  You know, when tehre were concerns that Kerry might have cheated there was an actual video of what appeared to be Kerry pulling out notes from his pocket.

And in response Democrats made great noise as to how pathetic that was.

Now, we get people like you making "Did Bush cheat" posts over what? A bulge?

You've obviously never warn an ear piece or microphone. IF Bush wanted to have a radio receiver in his ear, there'd be no bulge.  Heck, even something as low tech as a wireless PDA is smaller than that "bulge".  It's almost certainly a bullet proof vest.

The funny thing is, most of the wireless earpieces dont need anything bigger than a credit card for the receiver. So this hoax is not even believable (i.e. that the president of the united states does not have access to the latest technology?).

Guess Kerry is running scared now. He got his butt whooped last night, and he knows it.

What will these guys think of next! Maybe that wasn't George at all lol. Maybe that "bulge" is a energizer battery. All that's missing is the bunny suit.
If this had any merit at all, I would consider a serious response......keep trying though

Although the technology exists to cheat like this, all eyes were on the candidates after some folks accused Kerry of brinigng in notes during the first election. So i say it's probably NOT a wireless device. it could be the RC control box uplink that Cheney uses to remotely control him though...

Anybody got pics of the audience, and if so do you see a greyish balding guy with sunglasses and a trenchcoat?

The pic is from the 1st debate - see the podium he's standing behind? It's a weak effort to counter the "notecard" jibe.

I like your idea about the uplink to Cheney, though - that at least is funny. Maybe that's why all the long pauses! OK, now it's coming into focus.

Guys... i said i don't want to start anything. I don't even believe it. I watched the video, and it seems to be a normal bulge. Hence I said I was getting you back for the note card scandal.

I seriously doubt it is a wire. You think if the Bush want to cheat... he can either go wireless or have a thinner wire. That thing looks like a cable. Look, the standard tapping procedure is in the front not the back. This make no sense.

That's the thing - you don't need wires at all. The bulge looks to me as where the bullet proof vest clasps together.

Sandy,

Do you ever feel embarass making mistake like that? Or you simply have no shame because you just want to demonize Bush. Normal people feel ashame for the fact that they understand they could have misled others, and for those are not misled, they were being insulted for being stupid. If I am in your situation, I would have felt bad and possibly apologize.
