So, it's ok when Kerry says (on the record) that "Bush lied", then says in a public debate between himself and Bush that (paraphrasing) 'lieing is a strong word, I wouldn't use that word' when asked if he has called Bush a liar?

It's ok when Soros, Michael Moore, etc., call Bush a hate monger, war monger, Nazi, and other hateful words?

It's ok when people call our president a moron, dumb, dimwitted, or other similar words?

It's ok when the main stream media with their liberal bias concoct stories and make up proof for their accusations?

It's totally not possible that people like Bernard Goldberg and many others are correct in their proofs of a liberal bias in the media?

And yet, when people who claim to preach tolerance and acceptance are found to be the ones spreading the hate and starting the name calling, it's bad because it hurts your feelings?!?

There are reasons why the conservatives look at the liberals and think that they are hypocrites, but unfortunately the Kool-aid that many of the liberal persuasion is drinking has so numbed their brains that they can't see beyond the fog enough to step out and really see their behavior for what it is.

A joint project by the Pew Research Center and the Project for Excellence in Journalism reveals a darkly pessimistic view of the profession among its own members, often echoing the criticisms of the public at large.

The 55 percent of national journalists, and 37 percent of local ones, who see the media as soft on Bush may well be reflecting their own views of the president. At national outlets, 34 percent describe themselves as liberal, 54 percent as moderate and 7 percent as conservative. (The local split was 23-61-12.) Nearly 7 in 10 of the liberal national journalists criticized the Bush coverage.

The survey confirmed that national journalists are to the left of the public on social issues. Nine in 10 say it is not necessary to believe in God to be moral (40 percent of the public thinks this way). As might have been inferred from the upbeat coverage of gay marriage in Massachusetts, 88 percent of national journalists say society should accept homosexuality; only about half the public agrees.

In a related finding, 31 percent of national journalists now have a great deal of confidence in the public's election choices, compared with 52 percent at the end of the Clinton administration. The clear implication is that many media people feel superior to their customers.

With those kinds of numbers and results, the conservative side is supposed to feel sorry about who is throwing what punches at whom?

I think what sandy2 is speaking to in this article is the fact that when someone in the media with a left-leaning slant to them says something controversial, then its not just that one person who gets bashed but the ENTIRE Left.... when the Democratic party does something objectionable, its rarely said that it was just the Democrats, it was "the Left" that did it.

Why dont you take pride in the fact you are liberal? Why does it get to you when someone calls you that? is there a negative stigma attached to it, or are you just embarassed to be associated with the likes of Michael Moore and George Soros?

And being on the left has always had a "stigma". When someone uses the phrase "a card-carrying member of the ACLU" or just "liberal" as a form of derision, then yes, there is a stigma....

See.. they were being civil... just like Bush said it was not his place to judge Kerry's character. Expect this to change in the debate tonight after the hostile VP debate.

No, calling anyone a nazi is not ok. Other hateful words might be ok, like calling someone stupid, because stupid is an interpretation, but I think we all know what a nazi is and that does not compare to someone being called stupid.

No, although if you are refering to the CBS issue, then you will see the difference is that the "concoted" story involved a faulty source on what is considered to be a true statement, which has not been properly reuted by anyone.

It does not hurt my feelings. I am not hurt by words, nor am I even upset as I pointed out, but rather frustrated that often you can't hold a proper conversation because of the nonsense that is thrown at you.

No, I just think the media overall, with all the sources, is balanced because we have the left and the right wings which keep it balanced, much in the way the CBS hoax was found.

If you are racist then you are racist, it is not limited to being conservative. Some conservatives are racist though, because of the fact that affirmative action and other things that are anti-racist are liberal ideas, forcing them to become conservatives.

Demicans and Republicrats arguing over who calls who names more, now this is comedy.

Though I admit the Republicrats use some harsh terms, the harshest terms come from the Demicans, after all Draginol(Brad) did get called a Nazi for no sane reason at all.

Though if we want to get technical we could start counting up the number of times, one from the Demicans, one from the Republicrats, and one Independent, to form a council to count up the number of times what side calls the other a harsh term or harsh comparison, would be interesting to see which side has more violations would it not?

To play the devil's advocate, you don't have to be left-leaning to insult or unfairly criticize the President. The mainstream press is so unscrupulously self serving and hate-mongering that they would pick apart any sitting official. It isn't much of a scoop to say "The President is doing a great job, nothing further to add...". Honestly, they will have a field day with Kerry if he is elected, I think.

That's not to say some aren't biased. Many, though, are just hateful and self centered enough not to care who they smear, as long as the outrage they spur makes them money.
