everywhere i look, every where i go, i can see in the way people live and i can say people are materialistic. how about me?-- well, i'm materialistic too! i honestly say i have plenty of wants. i muself don't have to lie about that. i have observed that everybody today, will do anything to get their wants. i.e. a girl saw her friend with a new 8210 model of nokia cellphone, she was envy so seh want to have exactly like her friend's cellphone. that was it! i have observed that and also in our classroom, if my classmate had a new design of backpack or shoulder bag, then some of them the next day, bought the bag like that. when we heard about what's the new fad or "uso" we follow it. never want to be the last. sometimes we need to save money to buy stuff we want, and sometimes we just sacrifice our wants for something more important like our basic needs. now, i've been dreaming to have my own laptop, i want to have a laptop, i want to have a car, i want to have a denim jacket, i want to have a yellow green capri pants, i want to have an earings, i want a makeup set... these are just one of my wants. these are things that prove i'm a materialistic, i know its just normal but i wish and hope, i will not be very materialistic. that kind of attitude will waste few of my savings and money someday. but, i know some of that things are my needs. some are my wants. i like these wants because it gives me happiness. i.e. my cellphone, aside from hte fact that it helps me communicate with others, it also makes me happy. i think not all materials are bad, soem have its individual uses and what will it helps to you in terms of giving you satisfaction. everything i want does not gives me full happiness, especially the things, some of ti only remains its uses for a time then the happiness i feel just fade away soon. it's satisfaction in short, just last for a while and so i conclude i should not be over materialistic.
