Hahahaha. Ok, had a lovely reply but this %&**&%^ page just cleared it all out with another 'yellow screen of death' .... I am not typing that out again..... KMA...


Sux when that happens.

WOw, from the heading of stalker, this chat has ranged from mysogenism to meningitis to metaphysics in one evening, which is not bad for a short spell since it started out as hate speech addressed to the next m .....me! anyway, carry on, whats new on this blog?


If you stick around JU, you'll find a lot of articles go like this if the author allows it.

This was a tongue in cheek article.

LW gets the BEST hecklers, stalkers, anonymous trolls, whatever you want to call people who first come to JU and start reading her stuff, replying mostly on her stuff, and its not complimentary, even in jest.

Haemophilus influenza b, Neisseria meningitidis, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Escheria coli, Salmonella enteritidis, and other cases of childhood meningitis that presented with bacteriological etiology but the causative organism was unknown. As for adjuvant therapies...specifically glycerol versus dexamethasone. Right now I'm reviewing several papers to compare the significance of the therapies, singly or combined, in the outcomes of death, serious neurological sequelae, and deafness.

So you're figuring out the culprit and possible treatments and the effects of said treatments?

I'm a little tired, but that would be the layman's explanation, right?

Analyzing the data to see if inclusion of glycerol and/or dexamethasone with antibiotic therapies reduces the occurrence of death, deafness, or other severe neurological outcomes.

The upside of glycerol if it is effective (which it seems to be for reducing severe neurological outcomes from Hib meningitis) is it is cheap, readily available, and does not require any special storage or handling. This is great in poor countries where Hib meningitis is still a huge threat to life.

Dexamethasone seems to reduce the amount of hearing loss from Hib meningitis, alone or in combination with glycerol.

Sadly, it seems the desirable effects of the two adjuvant therapies are only clearly evident with Hib meningitis...at least that's what I've unearthed so far.

Oh, I see. So you're poking around for evidence that correlates the effectiveness of those therapies on other forms of meningitis....interesting indeed.

Wow! Tonya, What a well rounded thread you have here. I think you are getting close to covering all the topics. There is even medical miracles working here. You are an angel of information. That's you.

Zoo and Saxygirl, now that I am done with school I am working on a story that you might be interested in.  It's called the anatomy and physiology of Rugae Chyme. It is a story I was making up to get through a&p. Tonya, I think it will be a science story you will like.  It will have thrills, chills and if I knew more about pharmacology pills!   The heroine or villain depending on your point of view is from the Islands of Langerhans! Haha..do you like how I made this thread about my literary comeback.

O.K. now for my thoughts, at first the newbie, cough cough,, stalker sounded like Sir Peter Maxwell, but then less refined. So, I'm not sure. Whip you sure do draw an interesting crowd. I gotta tell you I am never bored.

O.K. Right now that's all I have to add.

Yep... That's epidemiology, but I am such a numbers geek. If only I had pursued marine ecology earlier in life.

I can do without numbers...zoological behavior and anatomy are my interests.

Let's see...rugae applies to inner folds of an organ, usually the stomach.  Chyme would be the lovely mixture of juices in the stomach that's just about ready to take the journey into your intestines.

Not method, just "Acting for Beginners." Thing is, I like to act. I do NOT like to study how to act. I learned about how to memorize and rehearse today. Blech. I know this, I've been acting since grade school. That's why I didn't like to study it. Oh well.


And no, dorm life isn't boring. My life is. My friends and associates love to hang out and do crazy things, I just do homework. And that's how it goes.

At least it's not microbiology...

I've spent most of my day at a Creation Conference by AIG.  Very Interesting....very.
