While playing it occurred to me:
- That the firing of a strategic cannon is an event worthy of report in your news windows. Such activities ought to be reported (i.e. "A strategic weapon is firing in the BLANK star system!"). If your own planet is struck by such a device, you should be informed as well (i.e. "A TEC strategic weapon has just struck our colony on BLANK!")
- Even when zoomed out, the impact of a strategic cannon strike is catastrophic, and of such proportion that it should be noticeable even when zoomed out to view a star system. I would make some measure of impact splash graphics momentarily visible at this level - a player *needs* his/her attention drawn to these monumental events.
- If a player has phase jump detection of some significant measure, they should be able to visually track any such cannon projectile from a median zoom range (not a long zoom range, but a healthily engaged median range...). Perhaps only when the projectile enters their corresponding jump scan range.
I do not speak from the perspective of wanting more indication of where such projectiles are coming from, rather I speak from the perspective of a player who thinks these are cataclysmic ultra-cool empire-altering events worthy of greater heralding than what they currently get. Granted, a player would know more about the general location of such weaponry, which might notbe bad or in any way unfair, but my point is to simply see these events handled in respect of their power.
