G'day,

I like the term "Baby Steps", so that's how i'm going to approach this forum (do you call this a forum?).

OK, let's see if there's anyone out there that can help me out here...

Delimma No. 1 in my life (ahhh, I mean my friends life!)... if you live with someone that you can't stand for 50% of the time, and the rest of the time is good... what do you do? I have a "friend" in this situation, and advice from un-biased third parties could be good!

Hmmm I think more information is needed. Like why can't you stand them? Is it a fixable problem or is it always like that. Wouldn't you prefer to be with someone that gave you a higher percentage of goodness, I won't say 100% because I doubt that's normal. Anyway I was no help, but welcome to JU anyway

Good evening: I know exactly of what you are speaking....I have a family member living with me. And some of the habits this adorable person has are atrocious!!! kind of like my spelling at times. I tried nagging, asking, threatening, and then I finally just said that these two particular habits are unacceptable, change them, lose them or move out.
And it has worked.
And I didn't lose this person's love.
And we're still in the same apt. together, and I'm "losing" some of my (unknown to me) bad habits.
Welcome and hang in there if this person is loved by you, a loving yet firm approach might work.

They should try to put a bit of distance between them. Like about 500 miles. If that makes them more unhappy then they were they may want to rethink the separation. If it is better, leave it that way. Half a life really isn't much better than no life. (like me lately)
