Golf. A terrible sport to play if you have no hand-eye coordination what so ever. Don't get me wrong, golf is a great sport to go out and play with a bunch of your friends. But let me tell you, I don't think I could even make our High school’s golf team if I tried. I mean I literally suck at this game. The thing that confuses me the most is the different types of clubs that you have. Lets see there’s the 1,2,3 wood, or driver if that's what you prefer to call it. Then, the irons; 1,3,5,7,9. And of course the putters. I have no clue as to which one to use for what. All I know is that if your swing isn't all that powerful then you might want to use a driver, but if it is then you might want to use an iron. I think we all no what the putter is for. I mean, come on, that's just plain common sense. So what would you use when you're going by the number on the club? Heck if I know! I just pick one that looks good and use it. Well this all leads me to what happened in the last two days.
We have what is called summer phys. ed. at our school. It is for the people that are too lazy to take a whole semester of it during school. It lasts about two weeks and it's all good fun. Especially when all of your friends do it. Well yesterday and today were our last two days. I'd say maybe the funniest out of them all. Yesterday we went to the driving (golf) range. Well we were introduced to the different types of clubs and what they are used for. Well if you know me well enough, I probably wasn't paying attention when I was supposed to and missed out on what each of them were. And so did my friends. So we got out on the range and started hitting the balls. Most of the time the just plopped right in front of me when I hit them. I'm so used to playing softball and so I tried to do kind of like half golf swing half softball swing. Well that wasn't working for me, so I just went to trying the old Happy Gilmore swing. It worked for a while, until it felt like I pulled something in my arm. Oopsy. lol. Anyways, soon enough out comes the guy in that little caged vehicle that goes around collecting all the balls that people hit out there. Pretty soon we all got the idea of trying to hit the guy as he's driving around. Boy if that wasn't fun, I don't know what is. hehe. Well some of us actually hit him. I really didn't hit him, but if you want to count hitting the thing on the back that collects the balls. One time I almost hit him, but it went right in front of him and was about an inch away from hitting him. Well finally me and my friend Jessica got through our bucket of balls. We had to save one to go to the putting practice area. Well I went to take out the flag and ended up not getting the ball in the hole and instead I got a splinter from the flagpole in my hand. Ok, ok enough of the golfing range, on to today for nine holes of golf.
So here we are. 9:00am in the morning out at a golf course. So some of us probably weren't awake all the way yet, but we made it through the payment to play on the green and the rental of golf clubs. My group consisted of my self, obviously, and my friends Jessica, and Kaley. We waited until like ten groups went. Well I was picked to go first. I swing, I miss. Swing again, and I miss. Finally after about 6 or 7 swings and misses I hit the ball. But to my luck the ball landed in the creek. So we had to go fetch it out. Pretty much the same thing happened up through hole 6. We swing, we miss, we swing, we miss. And somewhere in the middle I hit my ball in the pond. Lol. Well now, at hole six is where we start getting really bad. It was Kaley’s turn. She just couldn’t hit the ball at all. After about ten minutes of swinging and missing Jessica falls to the ground in laughter. And I’m just standing there laughing and waiting to take my turn. So she finally hits it. We move on. Now at the ninth hole. Which is the last one, is where I had a lot of trouble. I kept hitting the ball, but it wasn’t moving very far. The par was I think 3. Well it took me 10 swings to actually get it in the hole. Well 10 swings, the ball in the creek, almost hitting Jessica and Kaley and doing everything wrong.
Well needless to say, we were the last three done out of 30 people. But I guess it was worth it. I mean spending time with your friends and having fun. What more could you ask for?
