Just fake it? That's all you have to do to feel better about yourself? All those bad feelings will just go away if you just don't acknowledge them? No psychological trauma because you repress everything that goes wrong in your life and refuse to talk about it...especially with your significant other? Yeah, that's about the best fucking advice I've ever heard.
Let's all fake it so we can eventually breakdown, and take a submachine gun into public with a smile on our face.
I believe the thing that shocked me most were all of the positive comments on that particular article. It's not a good thing to do. You're supposed to be true to yourself, open up, share your feelings...this goes against everything that a good therapist will tell you. You can't just bottle everything inside, and yet here's an article that people have edited, read, and approved for public viewing that advocates this kind of shit?
Would you do this in cases of abuse? Someone's getting the shit beat out of them...what would you say? Repress it, ignore it, fake being happy and it'll go away?
This just pissed me the hell off. I hate stupid people, and what I hate more is stupid people giving stupid advice, and even more than that is stupid people listening to stupid advice given by a stupid person.
