It's a thread on Kupe's personal blog that is in no way breaking the ToU of JoeUser, the site upon which it was originally posted. There's no reason for a mod to come along a close it - there's been nothing here against the rules.

No need to be all hurt over it.

Besides, Kupe has the right to say whatever the hell he wants on his blog, according to the First Amendment. (If this was a public forum, that is. It's not, and a mod could close and delete this article in an instant if he wanted, but he's not violating any of the rules of any of the Stardock sites.)

My protest has everybusiness being here. "Here" is America. The First Amendment ensures my right to do so. I have not espoused a viewpoint insulting to anyone. Mr. Kuperman has. Again, I ask why a blog such as his appears where it has no point being?

Actually, any viewpoint that is espoused will insult somebody.  So, you really can't ever claim that you weren't insulting.

I am sure that the way you have referred to Kupe (who is Jewish) is probably insulting, especially since this is his post, not yours.  You essentially walked into his living room, invited yourself into his conversation, then told him that he should cease his discussion because you were offended by it.

Why are your "rights" more important than his?

You don't know what the First Amendment to the Constitution is? Try Googling it.

Hmm... you seemed to have proved his "American arrogance" point.  Do Americans know the doctrines of the laws of the UK?  No...not typically, and I doubt many people care.  So, why should they care about the laws of the US, especially if those laws don't pertain to what they are involved in?

Whoever JO622 may actually be, he stated "I am Jewish and find this whole thing very upsetting." Removing things, not because they are untrue (interesting to note, no one has disputed the veracity of my statements), because they offend your sensibilities, is censorship. And that is not something that I am likely to accede to.

I have been accused of "inciting." As if the anti-Semites need articles on blog sites to hate....In 2002, an Egyptian movie reinvigorated the old Libel, that Jews kill Gentile children to make matzo. Iran republished the old myth of The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion. Just a few weeks ago, a band of New York City teens beat a group of Jews on the subway for having the impudence to wish the teens "Happy Hanukkah."

And my blog is what you worry about?

Fuzzy, that was a bullshit remark. Nobody is cracking on your country or accusing them of having negative qualities. I don't give a damn of your position here, you owe people an apology for that crack.

As for the context of the original topic, I don't see that Kup was trying to insult anyone either. He was making a simple observation based on studies he has seen.

I want to thank everyone for commenting, discussion is good. I do even understand (disagree with, but understand) Dr JO622's concern that certain topics can, in the short run, raise the level of anger. In the long run I think discussion is beneficial.

But folks, this was written with humor, at least tongue in cheek. The title and subtitle should be a give away "Jews On The Internet, ZOMG!! Y1d5 Ru|3!!!!" We seem to have lost that perspective. As my esteemed colleague KarmaGirl so accurately pointed out "any viewpoint that is espoused will insult somebody." I would add "if they chose to be insulted."

I think we have discussed this as far as we need to.....thanks again.

There really is no " point " to miss.
I understand your not knowing our first amendment and I would not expect you to. I also see the point you were trying to get across by someone expecting you to jump out of your way to know it. That however does not give you the basis to classify arrogance as a typical American behavior.

Phoon, what percentage of ones interaction with a people is the cut-off to apply a generalization?  I happen to agree with Fuzzy that Americans as a general rule are arrogant about one thing or another.  They've got a lot to be proud of for sure, but there is a very thin line between pride and arrogance.

Fuzzy's waving his UK pride flag right now and is edging towards the UK arrogance by accusing Americans of being arrogant.

Vicious, vicious circles.

Can't we go back to talking about Jews?  I'm getting all verklempt.

Hehe.    I'am an arrogant person but everyone is arrogant.  They believe their country is the best or they are.  Crap, thats pride.  Someone knocks you/your belief/country/school or whatever, your ready to fight.  Is that arrogance or pride or both.  Whatever is the call, respect of another persons belief/way of like or whatever is needed.  Ya don't have to agree or believe, just respect.    Oh, and if ya don't have a little arrogance or pride, ya just ain't worth much.

Besides Kuperman's blog entry being completely self serving, the individual who wrote this is wearing the accomplishments of others as a badge or totem as if their accomplishments (not unique to the Jewish religion, and having nothing to do with it) somehow rub off on him.

Too bad...they don't. Oh, and why were the pictures necessary? Arrogance should be esched. Pride, if justified and reasonable in proportions is not a bad thing. Why is just one group singled out? They did not do this as a group. None of the "pseudostatistics" proving nothing mean anything.

What was this but a waste of time?

In fact, I am 60, and don't know why age 24 appears on the profile. You did not write this "tongue in cheek", so don't try to back out of point that you try to assume the mantle of others' accomplishments.
