Well, every time I've seen it referenced or discussed it's been regarding AI sensor advantages at the highest difficulty settings. If there are sensor advantages at lower settings I know nothing about them. Either way, I'm sure someone will be along to either correct me or back me up on this one in due course.
Are you talking about the discussions that the AI seems to be able to see where all the anomalies are? And maybe the resources as well?
If so that is not just at the higher levels. They
always know where all the anomalies are.
On the other hand, if you set your own Survey equipped ships to auto-survey,
your guys know where they all are also. They will proceed to anomalies well outside their apparent sensor range.
I just put it down to Spock being able to get the instruments to
point toward anomalies, even if the computer aided main display can't manage a full picture out that far.
