How does anyone live on $10/hour? I was making that much fresh out of high school with no degree fifteen years ago. If you've got a degree of any kind and the best you can pull in is $10/hour, you wasted a lot of time and money on a degree.

also bear in mind that different areas have different costs of living. i couldn't imagine living on $10/hr in san diego, but it'd be a lot more possible if i, say, moved out to Riverside. of course, then i'd have a real alcohol problem to pay for (nothing to do out there but drink or pray). it's a vicious cycle.

i got $12/hour right out of college at a temp job. it took me a couple months and moving back into my mom's place before i found it. i worked there for a few months, then returned to job hunting.

How does $7.40900 an hour sound? That was my first job! and there was an apprentice i knew who was making $5.76185 an hour. Well that was 10 years ago but last year i applied for a job.... It was a job to drive a truck and unload airplanes at Sydney airport, and to do that you have to have a very good security record etc etc. So tell me how much you would think that kind of job would be worth? Apparantly only $10.7026 per hour!! so after the interview, i declined the job offer.

businesses are stupid in this country, they all complain they cannot get staff, but obviously if their going to offer stupid wages, well what do they expect?

For the sake of arguement let's say I agree with the original poster; Bush and his policies are killing people. Let's add up the total. Say 5,000 US soldiers killed in Iraq + Afghanistan. Estimates vary, but we'll give the benefit of the doubt and quote the higher number that some 750,000 Iraqi + Afghanistan civilians have died as a result of the war. Add another 245,000 civilians in Darfur due to inaction and negligence. Throw in another 500,000 deaths because his policies have effects after 2008 too. Add in another 500,000 because Bush is evil and to account for any other factors I may have forgot*.

By this skewed estimation Bush is pretty darn dangerous, having killed 1 million already and will kill another 1 million after his presidency ends. Over his 8 years in office that's 250,000 killed each year.


Since abortion was legalized in the US in 1973 about 35 million abortions have taken place. That's over 1 million babies killed each year. Interestingly, this is about the same number of US soldiers that have died in all wars put together; but I digress.
Now who's more dangerous, a 2008 presidential candidate that is pro choice, or one who is anti-abortion?

Something else to think about: this looming Social Security crisis, where there are less people paying in than cashing out... Would it be solved with another 35 million citizens, half over age 18, each citizen having 2 hands?

In summary, calling Bush the most dangerous man alive is just partisan ridiculousness that I'm sure has been going on since '76.


*I'm not counting deaths from global warming + Kyoto for many reasons, for one thing it increasingly appears that Bush made the right choice and his European counterparts are hating the choice they made.

Penalty rates are on their way out in Australia as well. My wife used to work as a receptionist in a hotel. Before the new industrial relations laws, She was on about $14 USD per hour, however, she could be at work at 1am in the morning on Christmas day and her rate would still be only $14 per hour... no recognition at all for what time or what day it was, and that sucks!

Eh... hes a president, and being a yound democracy we didnt really respect him, we blamed him. His policies have been very socialistic at a time the leise faire would have helped ease the recession a lot more.

Seeing as he was once a staunch communist I am sure he is still a bit power hungry, however he isnt a huge threat.

George W Bush because he responsible for America as he is their leader, even though he is not a dictator, so cannot be held responsbile for every action by the American goverment, he still is their leader so i get to blame him

For Israel i could speak all day, it has basiclly illegally annexed the west bank, and Gaza strip, if it was intrested in peace then why does it occupy Jerusalem the main source of the anger?
Israel is one of the biggest arms importers and exporters, it is actually very funny, as America and Chinise relations are hostile, but China ends up with military technolodgy from America, because America sells it to Israel and then Israel uses it for their own purpose, modifies it a little maybe and then exports it to countries such as China and India. Israel provokes its neighbours by being intrusive, and in result People support Hamas or similar movements and declare 'Jihad' on Israel, so Israel has an excuse to invade and intrude further.


In reality though it would be intresting to see if North Korea is a rogue state, that indeed threatens world peace and stability practicly, or is a tool used by China to avoid world condemnation, and uses its influence on North Koreea as leverage for it's aims and ambitions.

Pakistan spends a huge ammount of its GDP% on the military, and now has Nuclear missiles and the ability to fire them Globally. Pakistan hate for America, and western intervention is huge. Although it did let American bombers refuel in Pakistan it was in its own intrests to do so, as they do not like the Taliban. The a Pakistan man who was employed by the goverment helped Libya, North Korea and Iran gain Nuclear Technolodgy.
