I don't know....i kinda like the fact that my ISS II's have snipers manning cannons with a sizable fraction of the firepower of the Death Star
Not to mention watching them go so fast that, when turning, they tend to drift (I made a couple of Victory Class SS drift-race around my home planet by pausing and setting up a long waypont road around the planet).
I have to admit though, DANMAN's upgrade for this mod that he included in his wasn't too bad. But I have to ask this:
Is the ISS Class I really necessary? i mean, a little bit of patience can get you a Class II no problem. Also, Will the Empire retain the Corellian Corvette and Gunship? I'm a fan of Star Wars, but I'm not aware of every single ship. In fact, I wonder...could Home One have a special ability to summon....maybe....and I know I'm going to get yelled at for sugesting this, but.....maybe summon the Millenium Falcon or Red Squadron? Also, would it be possibl to make the little ships that colonize planets (The ones that emerge from whatever ship gets close to a planet and activates 'Colonize') into Transport ships (Rebels) or Imperial Shuttles (Empire)?

The ISD I and ISD II will fill completely different roleseven though in reality they are pretty much the same vessel with a different weapons loadout
the ISD I will be used to actively patrol planets, subjugate them and hunt down enemy scouts and commerce
it will have the embargo ability, planetary landings, a heavy ion cannon ability and have a tractor beam that can immobilize frigates
the ISD II will be more combat focused and will have an alphastrike, raze planet, saturation fire and ion cannon ability
if Ironclad allowed us to have more abilities then it would be more redundant, but the idea is that the two ships would be used for different things by the players because otherwise they would be too limited.
That makes plenty of sense.
So, ultimately, the ISS I & II will simply be bigger, better, and more expensive verions of the Acc I & II with the added bonus of abilities? Which reminds me...
Since, if I remember correctly, it was said that the Republic will be in a later version, what will become of the Clone Wars ships? Will they remain in service to the empire, or be removed? If they ARE removed, what might take their place? You already have the Victory as a capitol ship, so it wouldn't really be fair to ask you if youcould simply make it a heav escort cruiser. I know I shouldnt be referencing Battlefront, but perhaps a Victory II could take theplace of the Acclimator?
So how is this mod coming along?

Like most major mods, work in areas other than models and textures has stopped due to 1.1 not being out yet.
stawars eaw foc is awsome but yes if u put stawars ships in sins it would be allot better also to mention there is a halo mod for sins comming out somtime witch will be awsome also nice Republic symbol EmperorParaDoxnt but i wil have to say this there are lots of people hwo would disagre about starwars sucking and sins being better in fact they would say who the gives a shit about sins of a solar empire its shit why waist monay on it but others wouldent give a shit to talk about it because its a waist of time and effort. also i am a halo/starwars fan and i approve all mods to sins using halo/ starwars i think itll be great>
You sir, need to learn how to use punctuation. And I think the debate is not that Star Wars sucks, but that EaW sucked (overall, if you've read the whole "debate" most people agree that Space Combat in it was ok, but overall the game sucked).
I second what Thrawn2787 said. Space combat was okay, rest was pure crap. Especially in FoC where criminal mastermind Tyber Zann appeared out of nowhere then just as suddenly disappeared. Seriously. Not the Hutts. Not the Yevetha. Not the Ssi-ruu. Not the Mandalorians. A criminal mastermind from George Lucas's ass. ANYTHING in my list would end up being better, cooler, and more continunity-friendly than Tyber Zann, even galaxy-conquering Mandalorians. Although its impossible to beat them when it comes to both being better and sheer badass coolness.
I thought EAW was great. Online play is fun cause there is little to exploit/spam. The only thing that sucked is you could byass a whole fleet by flying a squad to the enemies front door and warping in. Well then there is connecting issues.I also liked the single player conquest. No the game is not perfect but its pretty good. If you dont like it there are tons of mods and new ships you can add plus its easy to mod. Now FOC added alot of features that I like but I agree that tyber Zann ruined it. He sucks and everything about him. I dont like the whole crime organization holding its own against an empire...lame. I agree with spardason they could have gotten away with the hutts but thats pushin it. The Mandalorians would have been cool. All in all i still play it and enjoy it. IMO its the best star wars strategy i ve played. Im waiting for EvilleJedi to change this . Can someone throw me the link to the debate on it im interested in seein what all was said.
Well, the Phoenix Rising mod for FoC takes the pile of crap that was FoC, and makes it into a proper Star Wars game. You see, in EaW/Foc, an Imperial-II Star Destroyer has 6 turbolasers. In proper Star Wars canon, it has 120. What PR does is make FoC canon. So the PR Star Destroyer really feels like the dagger of impending doom. Trust me. It is able to eat Corellian Corvettes for breakfast and wash them down with Dreadnoughts.
Yeah I have PR and i really like the tech trees.I always thought that was one big feature lacking in eaw. 5 tech levels suck. The only thing I dont like bout PR is the battles take soooo long. I know its more realistic but it takes like 5 min to turn an isd around lol.
been soem time time since i played EaW/Foc, I remember letting the game sit for 30min or so just to give me a challenge. but i always like the Steiner Advanec Mod. All in all the game did what it was supposed to do, move units.

Well, considering its Star Wars, Lucas has to approve it. And if he doesn't look at what he's approving, then he's a senile idiot. Oh wait, I guess he is. Otherwise there wouldn't be a Jar-Jar Binks. And yes, Mandalorians kick ass. I seriously hope they are in EaW 2. (What, you thought Lucas would pass up the chance to make another Star Wars RTS cash cow? I seriously think there will be another one.)
Five minutes? You are exaggerating, but yes, only slightly. And the thing is, its part of the balance. You can't have Star Destroyers turn on a dime. If they did, it would invalidate the advantage the Rebels have with their powerful assault frigates. They hide in its rear arc and nibble it to death.
so a small annoucement, the first refresh of the mod will come out the week of thanksgiving (so in a week and a half, nov 26-29 or so) and will at minimum include the Alliance, Empire, the Republic and the CIS, though some of the units may be place holder meshes or not be fully textured they should have stats that are representative. Again I'd like to mention that this is not going to look too great because I am simply trying to get the stats together and import the meshes that I can. If I can get some of the abilities working I will try. At that point this thread will be locked and I will start a new thread.
The Republic and CIS will be in the next release? I was just hoping for the Empire and Rebels. That's awesome. One question. Will it be for 1.05 or for 1.1?

well I was hoping to test it with 1.1 final, but it looks like that is delayed a few days. Depending on how everything works with the new version then it should be on schedule (I have no idea how it will integrate into entrenchment beta, so at this point I am going to develop only for 1.1)

steiners mod could be my fave. It is all around fun with lots of units. I just wish it was for foc so you could jump in with one ship and warp in what u want.
