There comes a time, Mason, when you'll try anything, anything at all for some pain relief, chiropractic, acupuncture, bio-feedback...anything! Hahah, I even let them insert needles between my vertebra (sp?) and pump 'em full of anesthetic to get some temporary relief.
That's true enough. I've had those spinal injections in the past. My last girlfriend worked for a doctor who ran a pain clinic. I socialized with the doc running the joint. We bowled, drank, ect. together. One of the fringe benefits was he would give me free injections from time to time. They do help for a while.
I hope you never get to that point (if ya do though, the treatment isn't as horrific or painful as it sounds) but hey, let the hoodoo man do the hoodoo that he do, if for no other reason than to satisfy your Worker's Comp claim. I imagine you're expected to follow the doctors orders if they're to be paying for treatment.
Yeah, that's the bitch about Comp. You have to go along with whatever they recommend regardless. At least Comp is footing the bill for this hotel.
You need a little distraction, though, that's for sure. I'd inquire about renting a car (so you can get around to all those places a truck won't go) and maybe trying to take in a movie, hang out at the local library, go for meals, or at least cruise for a blow-job!
Is there a YMCA around? They might allow you to make use of their swimming and whirlpool facilities if you explained your situation to them, and that would be wonderful for your back, affording you a bit of low impact exercise.
That would be fine except that one of the restrictions I am currently under is that I am not allowed to drive any vehicle of any sort. That's partly because of the back problem and partly because of the drugs.
Hang in there, Mason. It's sad that you no longer have Socrates around to keep you company. Have you considered another kitten? This might be a good time to look into it, wonderful little healers that they are.
Thanks, I'm doing the best I can under the circumstances. As for the pet thing, I don't think I want to go that route again.
