Only question in my mind is what took this slimeball so long to really start backing off his campaign promises? Martin O'Malley lambasted his opponent and told the world (via political attack ads, through others that represented his campaign, etc.) that his opponent, former Governor Robert Ehrlich (Republican) was never going to fully fund the Thornton Education plan that was passed and legally mandated in Maryland.
Well, well, well... who is not doing what?
Oh yeah, it's the Democrat that made the big promises and called his opponent's promises lies that is now backing off on the full funding of the Thornton plan.
See original article here (in the Washington Post: O'Malley Budget Will Not Include Compensation for Education Costs)
Of course the Post takes the time to point out that this component of Thornton isn't mandated by law, but it doesn't excuse the fact that O'Malley had said all along it was *his* opponent that wasn't going to fully fund Thornton. Now it turns out that he is the one that won't be fully funding it. Too bad the idiots, uh, I mean Democrats, that voted for this moron won't really call him on it. They don't care, they're still too busy celebrating their return to power, even if it means their all powerful leader screws them in so many ways they can't count 'em all.
Sorry kids, your education just ain't that important now is it? Just "axe" (ask) the Gubbernor, he'll be tel u y!
