For the first time in weeks, the entire family sits together for the evening meal. Surrounded by the loving wife, beautiful 17 yr. old daughter, and handsome, smart, college-freshman son, I begin the conversation.
"Since I have you all here at once for a change, allow me to point out that my birthday will be here in only three more weeks, and I actually have a request for a present for a change."
"Let me guess," chimes in my beautiful daughter, voice dripping with sarcasm. "It's a game."
"Now, now. Let's not be smarter than your Dad. It's bad form." I admonish gently.
"What game is it?", my wife asks with resignation in her voice.
"Galactic Civilizations II: Dread Lords. Here! I've written it down."
"Ya gotta finish the first one before you can get the second one.", my son opines, aware that I only purchased GalCivI less than a week ago at Target.
"No. No I don't. And you can't make me!"
