The result of the Bush policy in Iraq is very clear—He has created an ugly MONSTER that we can not control.
The Army we have spent over 3 years creating with billions of U.S. Dollars is proving to be only partially effective. Stories that show the ineffectiveness of the Iraqi Army are surfacing. The request by Gen Casey for an additional 8 battalions to be sent to Baghdad produced only 2 battalions. On any day sizeable portions of the Iraqi Army are either AWOL, sick or on leave. Units of the Iraqi Army refuse to serve in locations outside their home province. The number we have trained is impressive however the number that are reliable to deal with the violence is only a fraction of that total.
The police we have trained are showing that they have been infiltrated by the terrorist elements that are creating some of the violence in Iraq. The people do not trust many of the police we have trained and contribute to the fact that the Pugh Survey shows that over 70% of the Iraqi people want the U.S. Military to leave Iraq NOW!
The Iraqi Government the Bush policy enabled to come into power is moving closer to that of Iran which Bush calls one of the most dangerous enemies we face.
This is the Frankenstein Bush has created in Iraq. An ineffective military, a police force that is spreading terrorism, a government we will not be able to deal with and a people that have turned against our country! Add the millions of new Moslem enemies our invasion of Iraq has created and a picture emerges of an army of Frankenstein’s that are a DIRECT result of the Bush policy in Iraq.
