I often wonder just how badly the Bush Administration has to do, for these die-hard conservatives to admit that this administration is the worst since Hoover.

Where are all the conservatives that wanted a balanced budget? Or is that just an issue when democrats are in power? Why do we lower taxes to the rich when waging a war on two fronts? I'm so sick of hearing how the democrats are the party of the big government, while the deficit increases at an unprecedented rate. Will the democrats once again get in power, just to have to rescue us from irresponsible spending?

What happened to the 8 billion that Bush promised to help the poor out of poverty? Last I heard the administration has spent less than 2 percent of that figure over the last 6 years.

What leadership was there in Katrina? Answer: Buy thousands of trailers and have them rot in Arkansas. Reason: Laws wouldn't let them be used. And what legal authority overruled the Federal Government? I guess the White House now answers to the Government of Louisiana. But then how were they to know there were people in the Superdome, in the first place? I guess CNN just didn't get to their cable boxes that week. When a Tsunami hit Asia we had helicopters there in 3 days dropping food. When our own citizens were stranded in New Orleans, we couldn’t get help to them for a week because the roads were flooded!

We started a whole new department of homeland security. What is more secure? The only difference I see it they made us take off our shoes at the Airport. How many billions did we spend for that?

When North Korea gets nuclear weapons, they blame it on Clinton’s policies from more than 6 years ago. No blame goes to the administration that cut negotiations with them, that tried to win them over by bullying them, that would not even open a dialog with them.

While we’re at it, let’s blame Clinton for the Bin Laden. He could have gotten him. Well, lets see; Bush had 100,000 troops in Afghanistan and he couldn’t get him. But once the conservative blinders are on I guess that this statement can be rationalized also.

Do these people honestly believe that Kerry, a highly decorated veteran himself, meant to dishonor the troops? Is nothing sacred?

I am proud to be an American, but more and more, I'm embarrassed by what our nation has become under this administration. The American people see this administration as what it is; a total failure, run by a man who prides himself as being just a “C” student. I expect more from a president. I expect the president of this great country to BETTER than average. I expect him to be mature enough to admit that policies need to be adjusted. I expect the president to be above the “blame” game. I expect him to HAVE the proper intelligence before putting our sons and daughters in harms way. But more importantly, I expect him to be honest with the American People about matters of national importance.

And for all this, I would like his apology.

My gut reaction is that apologies are due, believe it or not. I'm not sure that is really feasible in a time of war, though.

I try and ask myself how it would have been received had FDR apologized for losing more men on D-Day than we've lost in the last few years. Or Lincoln, who caused a war that killed more Americans than many wars combined. I think that it is obvious that it would have undercut his ability to lead, and undercut the authority of the Presidency. I think it would have served the morale of the enemy and harmed the nation.

Which is what people like Col Gene do. They are traitors, frankly, led by their ego and their hate, and who spend their days churning out propaganda for the worst sort of people in God's creation. They are people like the NY Times who believe it is their job to betray state secrets and provide talking points for those who behead innocent people in grainy videos.

I think when you look at a bitter thing like Col Gene, you have to ask yourself who they serve. Are they serving the Dems? No. The Dems aren't going to pull out of Iraq, and they aren't going to impeach Bush. Are they serving any real movement to effect change?

Nope. They are just creating mayhem, and destroying morale. They just want people to feel bad, and want people to feel sorry, just like the people who fly planes into buildings to make us wish we'd done things they way they think we should have. Nothing is made better by it, and nothing would be made better by an apology. In the end history decides what the failures of our leaders were, not terrorist propagandists.

The Dow being up does not help the vast majority to pay their bills. 80% of the values of securities are held by 10% of the population. The wealthy are doing well from the record high Stock market but for the VAST majority it means NOTHING!

And the reason for that disparity could be, if you'd give it some thought, because people have their excess forcefully "invested" in Social Security instead of ALLOWING them to invest their money as they choose.

The issue is not the reason WHY the issue is that the Stock market being up does not HELP the vast majority to meet their monthly expenses.

Another factor is that if there was no Social Security, the low and many of the middle income workers would NOT invest the money now being paid to Social Security. When they retired they would have even less or NOTHING to help them during retirement.

The issue is how is the economy impacting the low income workers? How is the economy impacting the MAJORITY of middle Income working America? How is the economy impacting the majority of the retired? The answer is clear for the most part these groups, which make up the vast majority of the population, are not seeing the great Bush Boom! That is WHY the polls show the majority does not approve of the way Bush and the GOP are handling the economy!

This has NOTHING to do with blame. It has to do with the simple fact that the stock market being up does not mean the vast majority benefit from it being up. The reason is that 80% of stocks are owned by only the most wealthy i.e. 10% and the stocks that the average person owns are part of their retirement plan. You can not spend those retirement investments until you retire. In a like manor, higher corporate profits do not flow to the average working family and thus do not help them pay their monthly bills. The statistics that a Bush sight as proof the economy is good does not help the vast number of Americans. They are concerned about keeping their jobs. They are struggling to pay the higher bills with very little increase in their wages. You can not talk people into believing the economy is great as Bush claims when each month they come up short with the money to pay the ever increasing bills like utilities, health care, insurance and food costs. I live in Florida and the increase in just our insurance premiums is wiping our ALL wage increase for very many people.

Oh please. You act like we are in some kind of economic state where bread lines and gas rationing is everywhere.  Bush does not control the income of people in this country.  If you come up short, get a second job, stop blaming the government for your lack of economic skills.

I said the insurance costs are skyrocketing. If you say that is not correct in Florida you are a liar. Today alone All State requested a 75% increase. Most companies have had 35-60% increases. The growing insurance is one of the major issues in the race for Governor as are the increasing Real Estate Taxes. The paper is full of stories of how businesses are being driven out of business. One local appliance dealer had his Real Estate taxes increase from $100,000 to $139,000 in one year.
