Joe User Gods and Goddesses

Joe User is not a world in a rational sense. It is a world in a metaphorical sense.

A metaphor is an illustration. You can not function consciously in an illustration. Your conscious that comes to JU is of the REAL world. But some of you have said things recently that indicate to me that you have deluded yourselves into believing that JU is a world that has your individual consciousnesses *in* it. I'm not sure why - perhaps the real world brings you pain (well it does in some form for all of us) but perhaps for you this pain is unbearable, and so you have entered this *world* to remake yourself into something you can't be "out there."

I have seen this morning many generalizations about Joe Users while perusing some of the dramas that periodically occur here. I submit that when you make a generalization about Joe Users, you have fallen into the same trap that many fall into in the real world; that of fancying that the world should be made in your image. You have a delusion that you are a JU God or Goddess, and that "people should behave this way" or "people should think that way," or any number of statements that indicate that you think you know what is right and what is wrong and everyone else is a sheep, unstable, a bitch, a whore, etc... If you've read and understood my article on Quantum Truth, you see that an instance of "right and wrong" is relative to the cause/effect events that surround them and that the greater the time distance surrounding the event in question, the more chance that right becomes wrong or vice versa. I'm too lazy to link it - I haven't written much here, so you can easily find it if you like.

Understand, I don't intend this as insult or a suggestion to change anything. I just muse about whether some are aware that they have become so entrapped in the misconception that Joe User is a world that they have lost touch with the objective reality. It isn't.

Did the hairs on the back of *your* neck rise at the suggestion? Then flame if you will, but grant me one request. Think insightfully before you do - don't just react. If after thinking about it a while you think you have a rational argument, feel free. I'd love to hear it.

The one thing that I have learnt but will probably not abide by is not to take things so seriously on JU.

JU is a "world" I enjoy, I have found it to be fun, exciting, interesting and even educational. I have "met" people here I would not otherwise have met in normal life. To me JU is a world, it is real for me as the people at the other end of the keyboards. It is an extension of the real world I live in.

I do understand the thrust of what you are saying and in part agree with it, though my perception of JU will not change as that is a part of the enjoyment of it.

Intersting and good observations you have made.

If it weren't for the voices in my head, I'd have noone to talk to.

I call them "Bob".

Damn with the lack of sleep again!

Sorry for the hijack, ock. Of course, you know, you aren't conforming properly. We'll have to put that in our "things to deal with when the revolution comes" checklist.

Only "I'm From the Government, I'm Here to Help" is a world. All the other blogs here at JU are merely satelites, revolving around the world, hoping to catch the warmth and energy it provides. ;~D

t really give the slightest damn about the JU world and its "dramas." But, I do thank you for remining me that:

No, I'm saying what my article Quantum Truth suggests. Good and Bad are relative to the cause and affect (use of 'affect' intended) events that surround them. Much as you suggested when describing the difference between lying to spare someone's feelings and lying to maliciously get away with something you think is wrong.

Look at the former. You lie to spare someone's feelings, and perhaps that is good. but expand the timeframe, and perhaps they don't face something they really need to face because you DID spare their feelings. Maybe if you had told them like it was, they'd have addressed some deeper problem within themselves that they wouldn't have otherwise addressed. In this frame of reference, the sparing of the feelings that was initially good is now bad again. And so on, and so forth.

I'm really not a believer in "everything happens for a reason," but I AM a believer in "everything brings reason out of what happens." I hope that clarifies what I was trying to say I'll be back. Someday
