I don't know whether to be excited and looking forward to trying it, or apprehensive about totally zonking my system irrevocably and losing my favorites,etc, and relative ease of operation that I've become accustomed to with IE6. Vista sounds like it's going to be expensive, very restrictive, and a step backward as far as abilities to do just plain browsing and usual PC functions. Maybe not. My take on it at this point. Will probably try IE7 if I can be assured of IE6 recovery if 7 doesnt work as I'd like.

I am aprehensive. I tried the next to last beta and had to reformat my computer. I do not want it again, beta or not. I use FireFox anyway. I hope I will have a choice in whether to get it in an update. That would be the pits if it cannot be avoided. Very scary.

If the link above has the new IE7 it'll be installed shortly after downloading it,been using IE7 for a while,3-4 days after install of the original IE7 i went back to IE6 ,no sooner had i done that i thought stuff that and reinstalled IE7 a few days later, been on it ever since all of you who are tossing up ,just do it if you want to go back to IE6 the uninstall will put it back

The unistall must have worked for you, but it did not for me. That is when my computer got so messed up I had to reformat. It was like it only uninstalled half way. My browser was back to 6 but all the graphics were 7. I tried to reinstall and uninstall again. Then a reformat. I really hope I won't get it through a needed update for something else.

It's ok, I don't like their tabs at all. As you can't customize them like you can in IE. At least i've not seen any options. Also don't care for the import bookmarks issues that come up when trying to import from firefox. Those are probably just errors I have. I think it's nice looking but I won't switch from firefox over to IE7 unless somethings are customizeable, but then again we're talking about microsoft here.

I think I'll wait awhile before downloading and way out the pros and cons. I tried the first beta and it did'nt work for nothing. I know things have change since then but you know the old saying " IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DONT FIX IT." Sticking with IE6 for now.

Totally agree with seldomseen & others here who are leery of IE7...I tried the beta when it first came out & it completely blocks my smiley central stuff from the MyWebSearch toolbar; yes - I know it's adware/spyware but I enjoy using those in my emails to my sister. IE7 is probably good security wise, but I fear it's going to be too restrictive for me to use. I'm keeping away from the "auto/dowload Xp update" & staying with the "custom" feature....also I'm updating my "system restore" so I can rollback just in case. I just hope those who prefer can keep using IE6 MS can't win!!

I had been using and loving FF for over a year. I tried the beta IE7 and hated it. Buggy, hard to use, you know. I uninstalled it pretty quickly. After some hesitation I tried IE7 RC1. I was pleasantly surprised. It has been stable and surprisingly easy to use. I have been impressed so far, I haven't tried the final release yet, but I am confident that it will be great. Although sometimes I feel like a traitor when I don't use Firefox.

IE7 is positively the owrst browser ever.

I can this be, really, I know that microsoft is sometime weird in their actions, but I actually believe after using it a bit that IE7 is actually pretty good. Microsoft are not dumb, they know that Firefox and Opera is gaining a little on them, but they still have 80% of the market.

the browser is only a little piece of software compare to gigs of information. If you had to reformat your HD after installing IE7, you probably had a major problem before and the install just brought it over the edge. Nothing to do with the browser itself. Same thing with crashing a system. Following this train of thoughts, WindowBlinds is probably the worst piece of software ever, it slows down my computer.

Alot of these comments come from people that hate Microsoft for the sake of hating Microsoft, they actually have no real reasons. hating Microsoft is trendy, hating windows is trendy therefore, IE7 is the worst browser ever.
Wake up folks, try it seriously. I'm sticking to Firefox, but IE7 is a great piece of software, cuddos to the dev team for learning from others and not being afraid to say that they did crap before.

I think This Issue needs to be addressed. I also think that the tabs need to meed to be customizable.
Other than that I see nothing wrong with it.
I have had no issues with stability.
