JU's On Myspace

As some of you may have or may not have noticed...(or care for that matter) but my blogging here greatly reduced when I got a myspace. I soon learned that a number of other JUs have myspace sites as well which certainly takes away some of many JUs cherished anonyminity (sp?). Wondering how many more of you are out in myspace as well. I'm not looking to "befriend" you or have you "befriend" me. Just curious, my myspace experience tells me that most of those of you who have them are under 30, but I'm hoping some of you surprise me.

I don't have a My Space account, but I have found A LOT of people on there, and most of it is HIGHLY hilarious.

My husband found one of his higher enlisted co-workers on there going by the name of "Beefcake"...Hahahahahhahahaa.

You gonna "out" anyone here? I'll give you 100 responses if you do. Hehe.

I won't tell you what their sites are. But I've seen Trin, Johnny Masuda, unfairman, nicky g, muggaz, and Mig's is linked from her blog so that's probably safe to give out.

I've seen Trinitie's (I know her big sister IRL), but I'm not really familiar with the other people (besides nicky and miggy).

My space at MySpace

MySpace.com has a great musicians community, where fans and stars can rub shoulders and share music and videos as well as have a 'blogg' (the side order)
My experience there has been pretty fulfilling, as I have had an opportunity to chat with my heroes (smiley) as well as chat to musicians who live just round the corner from me. Amazing!

Well the idea of this post wasn't to out everyone. I'm just curious if there more I didn't know about, or if there were if they didn't want people to know about it because JU is much more anonymous.

MySpace.com has a great musicians community

Which is why I started using it. I work for a youth music venue and it was helpful in connecting with bands.

I don't have a MySpace, and don't know anyone on JoeUser who has one, but LOTS of my relatives do...one of them is my brother, and he is in the over 30 crowd (others are my sister, another brother, and many, many cousins).

I don't think I'll ever get a my space, but I do like the fact that you can personally customize your page there...I've seen some cool ones.

I got a myspace name sus, it is to be able to read both my daughters, one of them is quite brilliant, the oldest, while the other one is too damn needy, she has 153 "friends" now that is scarey.

153 "Friends" is nothing on myspace. I used to approve everyone who added me but most of them were people I didn't know, or bands who were just trying to spread their name. One day I did a little myspace cleaning and reduced it to 100 or so with the bands I actually listened to and people I actually knew. Every now and then one of the 14 year olds I used to have in the afterschool program I worked for will find me but I won't add them because I don't feel that a lot of what I wish to be free to discuss on my page is appropriate for them.

youtube isn't really personal, unless you're suggesting a video blog of sorts.....but most people just mock those

I admit it, I have a MySpace, but like many other people here mentioned, I'm mostly involved for the music hosting. It's a geat way to get my band out there. Some really high-calibre performers and writers have heard my crappy tunes! Speaking of which, any of you JUsers with a MySpace account, if you really love me, add my band as your friend.

It occurs to me that Suspeckted said in his post that he wasn't looking to befriend or be befriended . . . so maybe my shameless plug is wasted here. But come on, I'm not asking for my personal use, my personal page doesn't need any other friends, but the band always looks cooler the more friends it has. And I'm trying to get out there, man . . . not an easy task.

I saw a thing a few weeks back about the "radio from hell" some radio station in salt lake cty. Rated as one of the best radio stations by Rolling Stone.

I'm listening to that program right now . . . it's a really funny, really enjoyable morning show. You should check it out on their website, X-96. Great stuff!

You got me Sus, I'm an over 30 kind of guy and I got a MySpace blog. I started because my 16 yr old daughter was telling me all about it and wanted me to join so I could see her site. I like that she wqanted to share it with me (she lives with her mother in the town next door). I get to see who her friends are and I get to follow what she's up too. Then I started to read others and I like it's structure and network. It's much more visual and pleasing to the eye than most blogs I've seen. However, I'm not very happy with the constant "Love" ads for dating. The women (young girls) that are in the ads aren't even close to being "Real" and I don't lke what the ads project onto girls like my daughter. But I don't know if she sees the same ads I do when I log in. That's all I got.
