Geopolitics and impact on USA elections: Israel vs Hezbollah

A question that is bugging me a bit lately and hopefully readers can respond to here:

What impact, if any, will the "war" between Israel and Hezbollah have on the coming U.S.A. elections?

Does it help either party (if so, which one)?

Does it hurt either party (if so, which one)?

Or is it so distant from the U.S.A. that it won't come into play at all?

In my opinion, it may sway many who believed in Bush before to reconsider their position. I already makes a lot of people question our real motives in the Middle East already. Americans are so acostume to getting things done fast, that's why fast food is so famous here. When something takes to long they get bored and upset and it gives them too much time to reconsider.

Does it help either party (if so, which one)?

It may help the Dems in the sense that they can persuade those who are bordering being persuaded into believing in them more because there are having too much time to reconsider their positions. Kinda like when you get in line for something and get mad that they take so long yet if you see a much smaller line somewhere else that you would normaly never consider, it becomes more to your interest just to get what you want faster.

Does it hurt either party (if so, which one)?

It may actually hurt the Reps because many of them in Congress and the Senate are having conflicting opinions as to whether they follow Bush or not while the Dems stay strong in their unified beliefs.

Or is it so distant from the U.S.A. that it won't come into play at all?

With the way the Media feeds it to us on a daily basis, there is no way this will goes silently into the night. Chances are these types of stories will only get stronger, bigger, louder and more often as November approches.

This is just how I see it. There's a chance it will have very little impact but judging by how predictable people can be at times I think it would have a lot to do. Hell I think this will affect it as if it was 2008, people will hope to be able to vote Bush out in 2006 if they could. Some will probably complain why there is no alternative to Bush for the next 2 years. But that's just me.

BTW, this from a person whos political knowledge is very limited. I am not afraid to admit it. I do however have my beliefs and I always stand my ground unless proven wrong. I can admit to be wrong when I'm wrong. Hehe.

It should have no impact. But the democrats are already trying to make it an issue (Kerry - it would not have happened if I WAS PRESIDENT).

Frankly, if the democrats want to make it an issue, it will be a loser for them. Best to just let Israel take care of the problem as they seem to be doing very well at that.
