Invited To A Party

As I am forced to park my rig until Wednesday morning I called a cab and rode to a local bar for some entertainment today. I hit it off with the folks who worked there and had a pretty good time.

One of the guys who works there, he plays in a local band and we spent a good deal of time talking about music, invited me to their local Jul 4th party tomorrow. He gave me his phone number, aassured me he would give me a ride, and explained that there would be "plenty of women" there to assure a good time.

It sounds like fun so since I know I'll be stuck here anyway, I may as well join in the fun. Right?

This local bar was an interesting place. When I first showed up it was staffed by nothing but white people. Not unusual for this part of the country. After a little while a black guy showed up behind the bar. We talked for a bit, I learned his name and he learned mine, and life went on just fine. He was a really nice guy. I even met his wife when she came to pick him up from work. Nice lady with a great sense of humor.

After some more time went by, the bartender was replaced by this black girl who had very cute pigtails and horrendous teeth which looked like nothing less than vampire fangs. I asked the guy about the teeth and he just said "she's into the goth thing" as if this was some sort of logical explaination for her bizarre look. I'll admit she was cute despite the fangs.

Overall it was a good time and one guy who came on duty late, a huge black guy, was the nicest of them all. We got to talking and he was as into music as I am, has played in a few bands and is playing a show tomorrow for the 4th. He gave me his number and told me to give him a call and he'd pick me up and give me a ride to the big show, and if his wife answered to just tell her to put him on the line. His name is Ricco, which is a very odd name for a black dude and I expressed such which led to another long conversation. He thinks so too and doesn't know what is mother was thinking

It was a really good time at this local bar. I drank more than my share. danced with some very lovely young ladies, and basically made an ass of myself. It was fun. Tomorrow I'll give Ricco a call and go check out the local July 4th celebration/BBQ. It promises to be an interesting time.
