Something many in this country should do: watch Israel and learn how to deal with your enemies and those that would use terror (including kidnapping and hostage taking) against you.
Israel is gearing up for a large scale assault on Gaza even as I write this. Why? Because *one* soldier was kidnapped and taken as a hostage by their enemies.
Israel yet again is demonstrating that if you mess with them at all, you will pay a severe price. This is exactly the kind of message we have not been sending to the terrorists and clowns in Iraq (and perhaps in Afghanistan), and it's exactly the kind of message we should be sending. Mess with the bull, get the horns.
Do we have the guts and heart to do what Israel is doing? Given the requests (from us, the U.S.A., via Secretary of State Rice's comments aimed at Israel) for restraint by Israel, I doubt it. We are far too interested in keeping our pacifist neighbors in the world community happy. We can't afford to let the world think we are evil bastages, and can't afford to demonstrate to future terrorists why they should be lining up to fight against the imperialist dogs from the U.S.A. (or so believes many of the left in the U.S.A.).
Will Israel deal a crushing blow to Hamas for this -- what can only be described as a -- tactical blunder? I hope so.
