Recent congressional mis-steps, crimes, and punishments

Quick article in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution about the (dis-)honorable Representative Cynthia McKinney case and how it's dragged into several weeks, though typically such cases would have been settled out of court much faster, and would never reach a grand jury.

As noted in that article (linked here), dealing with a congress person, especially one that is 'as difficult' as McKinney is never easy.

Just as (also described in that article) there were special circumstances in dealing with Congressperson Patrick Kennedy, and just as there have been issues related to dealing with Rep. Jefferson, anytime the special persons in Congress are involved with legal matters for their own persons, things seem to grind to a hault.

I'm personally incredibly tired of it all. I'm tired of Congress writing laws that don't apply to them. I'm tired of them being a priviledged class. I'm tried of them breaking the rules and then crying when they are caught or investigated for it.

I want them all gone. As much as I hate the idea of a Democrat majority in the House and Senate, I'd take such an outcome if we could literally toss out all of the incumbents and start fresh. Toss them all. Every single one.

When given the opportunity to vote, look for an indicator that says Incumbent and use it to decide who doesn't get your vote. Practice your own term limits policy and send the bad apples -- every single one of them, whether already caught or not -- home. Don't just assume that it's someone else's congressperson that is bad, assume it's all of them. Don't just blindly vote for the person with the name your recognize, vote for the new person, with the new ideas, and give them a chance to show they can't do the job. Certainly the existing clowns have already proved they don't do much of anything except waste our money and argue over everything.

There are a few that should be retained but not many. - Problem is it seems that everyone in the country hate the politician from the next state over but thinks theirs is just ducky. Except for me. I'm stuck with California's Maxine Waters not to mention Boxer and Feinstein. Don't blame me. I've never voted for them.

Problem is it seems that everyone in the country hate the politician from the next state over but thinks theirs is just ducky.

I'll tell you straight up the ones from my State got to go. They should be near the top of the list. Thankfully one of them (Senator) is going, off into the sunset, retirement, all that jazz. The other may not be that far behind. If we could just get rid of a few of the Representatives to go along with, we'd have the start of something good.
