Activation should not be an issue as long as one of the two following conditions are met:
1 - You have an active online connection and your account has not reached the maximum activations, at which point you would simply contact Stardock and request they reset your activation account.
2 - You contact Stardock support via e-mail and inform them that you need to activate a product without an active internet connection, and provide them with the product serial number and e-mail address of the account used for that product. They should be able to fix you up with a satisfactory solution.
It is not likely that Stardock will go out of business in the immediate future, so there is not much to be concerned with there. If you have been an owner of an Object Desktop license previous to the activation system, you may be able to install and archive WB4.6 and ObjectDock 1.20 to allow installation of those programs using Stardock Central at any time in the future.
Note - this would be similar to a situation where a user has Photoshop 7 and Photoshop CS series. The version 7 can be installed at any time, where the CS series must be activated. If Adobe goes out of business, then the customer may be stuck (at some point) with having to use version 7, in the event that no server is set up to accommodate activations.
