How to see planetary lights?

specific video requirements?

Sorry, I know I've seen a thread on this before but I can't find it now.
What are the necessary video settings to see lights come on the planet surface at night?

I've got the default video settings (which I think are maxed out), and am using an ATI radeon mobility card with 256Mb RAM

Any idea how to see the pretty lights?

You should find what you need there. Basically on a developed planet, look in the hemisphere that is shaded from the star.

Yeah I never knew about them until I saw people posting about them being missing. I loaded up a save game, zoomed in on the first 3 habitable planets I came across and 2 of them had lights. Never been a problem here, though I hardly see why it matters in a strategy game LOL
