it seems strange to me that there is no option to build some sort of mining starbases on stars or on gas giant planets... wouldn't it make sense for advanced civilizations to make use of these massive resources, instead of mining strange colored polygons in deep space? I know "realism" is a sketchy topic in a sci-fi game, but it seems weird that most of the solar systems in the galaxy are "useless"
