I generally like playing with fewer star systems, for personal flavour. Unfortunately, having the star system factor at Uncommon and such has poor results in-game (civilizations can get, well, screwed based on starting position [which, imo, is the biggest flaw in this game.. very poor random position mapping] due to lack of stars nearby with planets that can be colonized).
Part of the problem is that part of the quota of stars, on any setting, is taken up by those stars that will not have any habitable planets in them; such as orange, white, red, green, blue, and such. Combined with the odd yellow star system with all Class 0s in it, it can make equal starts very hard and rare to come by on the rarer star options.
In the campaign I noticed that stars that werent yellow had habitable planets. I was wondering if there was any way to make it so that in the sandbox games, on random generation, any star could potentially have a habitable planet?
I've looked around and the only .xml file I could find was the Startypes one, which I played with.. including such results as all stars with habitable systems being blue.. and systems with no habitable planets having.. no star at all (there'd be no star graphic of what the planets were orbiting.. and no star colours other than blue for ones with habitable planets).
Any help would be appreciated.
