Trading: Subspace Rebounder

OK, the torians just traded the "subspace rebounder" tech to me. The catch is that on the trade screen nothing, and i mean, nothing, was listed on the torians side. After the trade, no tech window popped up, and there was no evidence that I recived the tech. The torians Initiated the trade.

I'm assuming that this is a "good" or "evil" tech, that I, as neutral, can't access. Would it be possible to flag the alignment tech's you can't use as non-tradeable, so that others dont get stuck with this?

I'd like to know what it does. It's not a new ship component. It's not a wonder or a trade good. It's not a bonus.

What exactly does it do?

Description: The Subspace Rebounder is expensive but provides enhanced protection.

Details: The Subpsace Rebounder was found as a kind of fluke. While researching Shields III, one of our most brilliant scientists, who happens to be phsyically disabled, came up with the idea of an energy field that rebounds energy into a slightly different angle that allows our shield technology to have to absorb less of the blast.

In effect, it causes energy weapons to nearly miss. It is more expensive, by far, because it still requires the full cost of including shields, but it doesn't use any more space.

For some reason no GOOD techs operate, Subspace rebounding, Arnorian Battle Armor, Telepathic Missile Defense and so on.

Good races have tried trading me their techs while I am evil, and it always shows up empty in the trade window so I never go through with it

Subspace Rebounder is depending on Creativity (or rather a creativity 'check' when researching technology), I think, it isn't a Good or Evil or Neutral thing. I noticed it was bugged or something too, actually the Andromedans (whatever those space-nordics are called) kept offering the Rebounder and I kept refusing because nothign was showing up in their trade window; funnily enough, I later stole it via espionage. Nothing showed up in the ship builder. Too bad too, those sound like wicked shields and I had a sweet manufacturing planet that wouldn't have minded the cost
