I don't know if this has ever been posted, but here goes.
I was creating a fleet with 4 medium sized ships, one of the ships was located on top of a trade route, and a freighter had moved into the same tile the previous turn. However i didn't see it at first so i tried to move another ship to that tile (where one of my ships already was) and of course i got an attack-war warning. I then moved the ship on the freighter's tile to another, and the other 3 ships i wanted to make the fleet out of onto that tile. That's when things got weird. I selected the 4 ships and hit Create Fleet. 2 of the ships (of the same type) created a fleet, while the other two (of the same type, but different than the previous 2) did not. AND, this is the fun part, a NEW, blank ship was created as part of the unit stack in it's own fleet. there is no model, no ID, and no visible parts to this phantam ship (that reads as Logistics 0). however it is selectable (although hard to locate on the star map cause it's invisible) both on the starmap and command console. It can be issued orders, however it does not move. The only way i could get rid of it was to move a completely new ship to it's tile, create a fleet of the two, and then disband it, and the phantam ship dissapeared. And now, whenever i try to create a fleet using the ship that started all this, the same thing happens. I can make several phantam ships if i keep hitting the create fleet button.
So dev's, have AT that one, HEH...
