What happened to the good times?
I am reading through the newest articles and thinking to myself " we need some happy news! "
Everyone is writing about issues that are in the news and that's great, in fact I love to read everyone's
opinion! (agree or disagree) But have you noticed that most of our days are worrying or complaining?
Mine is, I'll admit it! It seems that is all I do anymore!
I don't know about the rest of the readers here but I need some good happy stories. So, after racking my brain
for a really good and funny story, this is what I came up with. I hope all of you will enjoy! : )
It was Easter and I was (I think) 7 years old (and gullable). I got a big chocolate egg in my basket. It was like one of those over-sized hershey kisses. Except it had the eggshell on it.....so I thought.... ( I was 7, I never tried to eat the shell, didn't know it was candy! )
On the box, it had a story about the egg. So I ask my mother if there was a real chocolate chicken. She tells me yes, there
is such a thing as a chocolate chicken! The way she tells it....I deserved it because I wouldn't leave her alone about it! Yeah right! I was only 7! : )
It wasn't long before my step brother (5 years older) and I get in to an argument over it. I run to my mom, thinking she will stand
behind her little girl, yelling with great authority to her.." MAMA! TELL KENNY THAT THERE IS TOO SUCH A THING AS A CHOCOLATE CHICKEN!! "
Yep, she started laughing! She looked me straight in the eyes and said, " sorry honey, there is no such thing as a chocolate chicken."
She then tells me that she only told me to get me out of her hair!
I was devestated! I was positive I would win my first argument with my step brother. It just gave him more ammo to use against me!
He never let it go!!
I don't remember some of the story, but my mom told me that I actually didn't talk to her for about 3 days!
Now, to this day, all I hear, when something isn't true or misunderstood.... It's a chocolate chicken, jewels....
Man somethings are never forgotten! I have never been able to shake loose from that phrase! My husband even says this to me!
It's been 20 years...and the chocolate chicken lives on.
I feel so much better! Who ever said to forget the past is wrong, It's the past we need to remember!
We all should remember our "chocolate chickens"
Remember the past to enjoy the present!
Crazy Lady : )
