A question about the dialogue

Hi all a quick question this one;

From what I've seen in the articles and journals the guys said they have written dialogue not only for each race but also unique text for their speech to any other given race. (if that makes sense lol =P)

So do they mean for example that the drengin will say totally differant things to a torian than they would to say the Yor?

What I've seen leads me to think yes but then I think that would be impossable for them to do right??? LOL how much dialogue would that be!

Wow thats pretty amazing! How do you manage to keep so much of the dialogue so funny after writing a billion lines heh.

It is a lot but it wouldn't be as much as you seem to think.

There are ten races + the minors but there are a limited number of situations. It's not like you are having a conversation. Playing as a human the other nine majors will have X number of snappy lines to deliver but not so many you don't see the same line often. Something like "hello Alan I thought I smelled you coming" you might see several times in the course of a game.

Not to diminish the work involved but it is in the thousands of words and not the millions or billions

The one liner from the Torians when the great and powerful "Bill" gave him some ships cracked me up. I really look forward to seeing all the hidden gems like that that they have in the game

Just wait until you get into a situation where the Mighty Drengin come suing for peace.

There are several hundred (maybe even 1000) unique phrases used for dialogue in the game, which is fair bit of typing.  However, there are approximately 130 different topics in the game, so to have unique text for all of those topics would require about 11,000 phrases (without allowing for multiple phrases per topic).  So, no, every combination of race dialogue isn't unique, but there is a lot of variety.
