Yep! Yesterday, I predicted I would be blamed for the disaster today! And Guess what? Yep I was!
For those new to the ranting (and I am keeping it on my blog not in the forums - I hope), we had a server meltdown that brought down DHCP for the entire organization. Through some foresight on my part the down time was only for about an hour, the cleanup tho took most of the day. The old server was left in smoking ruins (metaphor) as I have been told (from my first rant) that I was no longer to install servers. period. That was the total of the idiots command.
This morning my co-worker asked me for a status. I said all was well. "What about the downed server". NMP, I was told I do not install servers period. His jaw dropped! 1/2 hour later, there is the captain, thumping his chest and berating me for not installing it!
Ok, follow closely. 2 weeks ago I was slammed for not doing his job. i.e. Checking on the cost of my actions. I did as instructed, with his knowledge (which of course he now denies) and installed with the only media I had. But it was the wrong media. According to him now. I should have used the right media (according to him then).
So today he is thumping chest and demanding to know why I have not called Dell (it is not a hardware problem and they will not respond). Then why did I not install? (You took all my CDs). Then why did you not come to me for them? Ok, can I have the media.
"I dont have it". WTF! You blasted me 2 weeks ago for using the wrong media, after ordering me to install with the media I had, but it was the wrong media which I told you then! Then you demand I use the right media, which I cannot do since you dont have it, and sorry, I dont have it either! What a fucking moron!
I am getting a headache just thinking about the stupidity and duplicity of this asshat! How could I install the servers, as you commaned (I do have an email on that) and then today you tell me you dont have the media (which both the other guy and I already tried to tell the jackass).
So let me see where I stand. Your policies toasted a server, but my hand did the deed (at your command). I saved your ass by doing something I thought would cover our ass, but you railed at me for taking so long (we were operational in 1 hour and back to normal in 4). You demand that I install, knowing that I only have one version, and then slam me for installing that version instead of the other version. Then you tell me today you dont have that version?

You want a status report of what I do all day? hey diipwad! Windows does do multitasking, but for you, I am only going to have one window open on one PC and will work to the letter of DOS! You fucking moron! You have finally made me believe in abortion. Unfortunately 50 years too late.
